Danielle Fishel Shares Update One Year After Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Danielle Fishel is ready to take on the world.

The 44-year-old actress announced she’s feeling good after finishing her treatment for breast cancer. She was diagnosed earlier this year with a very early stage of the disease, called ductal carcinoma in situ.

Danielle shared with People magazine at iHeartRadio’s KIIS FM Jingle Ball on December 5th that she’s doing well. She explained that she still goes to regular check-ups after being diagnosed with cancer a year ago, and a recent appointment with her oncologist showed everything is healthy.

The Boy Meets World actress is very grateful for a good outcome, thanks to catching the issue early.

I’m feeling really positive and thankful for my health and family,” she said. “I have so much to appreciate, particularly this year.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Danielle just shared the best news! After being on Dancing With the Stars, she said all her medical tests came back totally clear! And get this – she doesn’t even need another mammogram until June! I’m seriously so relieved and happy for her, she’s amazing!

In August 2024, Danielle shared that she had been diagnosed with cancer and described the two surgeries she had to remove it.

She told TopMob News in October 2024 that she had her first surgery on August 13th. Doctors removed a mass, but lab tests showed cancer was very close to the edge of the removed tissue – specifically, the medial margin. They weren’t happy with how close the cancer was to that edge.

A month later, she had another procedure, and tests showed no remaining cancer with clear margins – meaning the cancer hadn’t spread.

Although she knew there would be further treatments after her lumpectomy, she said at the time, “I’m finished with surgery.”

By January, Danielle had finished 20 rounds of radiation therapy, marking the end of what she described on the Pod Meets World podcast as her active cancer treatment.

She explained that this would greatly reduce the likelihood of the problem returning, which is very positive.

The experience helped her understand she was simply going through the motions and needed to prioritize having fun. This realization is what ultimately led her to say yes to Dancing With the Stars.

After finishing cancer treatment, Danielle realized she wasn’t prioritizing joy in her life, she told People magazine in September. She felt taking on this new opportunity was the perfect way to celebrate being finished with treatment.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.

He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat or stand on one foot without falling, comparing the feeling to having had a stroke.

She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.

“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. “I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”

Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how quickly things can change, and recently, that hit close to home. Thankfully, he’s fully recovered now, and let me tell you, it was a huge relief. It’s something no parent ever wants to go through, and honestly, I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone.

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, and couldn’t speak or move the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital to get checked out. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack), often called a ‘mini-stroke’. Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed part of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis on one side. He showed fans he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side, and that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.

Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but reassured everyone that he would be completely fine and that she was thankful he was on the mend.

In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he suffered a severe headache while in Atlanta and lost consciousness before he could take an aspirin. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed them all.

The reality TV star said she temporarily stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she temporarily lost her ability to speak, often muttering incoherently.

Though she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, causing a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is back to 100 percent.

Because of her background in holistic medicine and herbalism, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This search for well-being lasted for ten years. The physical discomfort led to anxiety about food and ultimately, issues with body image and self-identity.

Fortunately, after a long journey of addressing both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy. She expressed gratitude for being able to say that she has resolved the issues and is thriving.
