The Angry Birds Movie 2 has taken flight on a major streaming chart.
Seven years after it first came out, the animated movie Angry Birds Movie 2, featuring Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride, is gaining popularity on streaming services. While it didn’t make as much money at the box office ($147.8 million) as the first Angry Birds Movie ($352.3 million), critics liked it more – it earned a 72% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a significant improvement over the original’s 44%.
According to FlixPatrol, which tracks streaming popularity, The Angry Birds Movie 2 is currently the 10th most-watched movie on HBO Max worldwide. Surprisingly, it’s much older than the other films on the list – released about five years earlier than the rest. It’s sharing the top 10 with recent critically acclaimed and popular movies, including Best Picture nominees Sinners and One Battle After Another.

The song reached number 10 due to strong performance across several European countries. While it hit number 2 in Bulgaria, it currently ranks either 3rd or 4th in ten other regions: Albania, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Czech Republic, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
The popularity of streaming is boosting excitement for Angry Birds Movie 3, which arrives in theaters on December 23rd. The new film brings back familiar voices like Jason Sudeikis, Danny McBride, Rachel Bloom, and Josh Gad, and also introduces fresh talent including Keke Palmer, Marcello Hernández, Walker Scobell, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Emma Myers, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Sam Richardson, and MrBeast.
Although The Angry Birds Movie 2 didn’t do well in cinemas, it’s proven popular with viewers watching at home and remains so, which could lead to a successful third movie seven years from now.
