Warning: Spoilers ahead for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episodes 2 and 3.
The latest two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again have arrived, and they’ve revealed important details about a character who hasn’t appeared in a long time.
In the second episode of the new season, Dex, also known as Bullseye, goes to see Clinton Church. There, he encounters a seminarian and questions her about Sister Maggie, who happens to be the mother of Matt Murdock.
I just heard from a friend studying to be a priest that Sister Maggie is actually in Rome for a year of rest and study! That makes so much sense why she’s not in the new season of the show – she’s taking a well-deserved break and broadening her horizons!
If you need a quick reminder – it’s been eight years since Daredevil season 3! – Sister Maggie and Jack Murdock had a relationship that resulted in Matt’s birth. She kept this a secret until The Defenders, when she revealed she was his mother, having cared for him after a tough fight in the church basement.
People are really happy about the mention of Sister Maggie, and relieved to hear she’s currently safe.

Deborah Whalley has expressed her fondness for her time playing Elektra in Daredevil. In a 2022 interview with ComicBook.com, she said she ‘loved’ the show and would be thrilled to reprise the role if given the chance. She fondly remembered wearing the character’s costume and enjoyed playing Elektra.
Here’s hoping!
As a big fan of the show, I’ve been following the story of Matt, Karen, and the team closely. This season, they’ve been operating under the radar, trying to take down Wilson Fisk – you know, Kingpin, played brilliantly by Vincent D’Onofrio – by infiltrating the Red Hook free port. It’s a really clever way to try and disrupt his operations!
Honestly, the latest episode left me reeling. It turned out the villain did something truly awful, and Matt just discovered he inadvertently ordered the AVTF to wipe out the entire crew of the Northern Star – a cargo ship that was secretly carrying serious weapons into the port. It was a shocking twist!
It certainly seems like Matt and Karen are going to need some back-up.
Daredevil: Born Again is available to stream on Disney+. Sign-up to Disney+ from £5.99 a month.
