As a big film fan, I’m really excited to see Matthew Lillard join the Marvel universe with *Daredevil: Born Again*! It’s cool to see someone so well-known for horror like *Scream* and comedy like *Scooby-Doo* taking on a superhero role. I recently heard him talking at Comic-Con in LA, and he shared some details about his character, which sounds awesome. He even mentioned hoping to work with James Gunn over in the DCU sometime, which I’d definitely love to see happen!
Matthew Lillard is ‘available’ for joining James Gunn’s DCU
Matthew Lillard has confirmed he’ll be in the upcoming season of Marvel’s *Daredevil: Born Again*. He also jokingly put in a request to join James Gunn’s DC Universe, saying he’s eager to work with Gunn again. The two previously collaborated on the *Scooby-Doo* movies, where Lillard famously played Shaggy, and he hinted he’s hoping for another opportunity to work with Gunn, playfully suggesting an invitation might be lost in the mail.
During a recent panel discussion, Damian Lillard shared a few details about his role in a Marvel project. He confirmed he won’t be wearing a costume, specifically mentioning ‘no Lycra,’ but expressed excitement about being involved in the intense and dramatic world of superheroes. Lillard also complimented his co-stars, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, calling them ‘incredible actors,’ and stated he was proud to be part of the project.
Damian Lillard is joining the cast of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ the second season of the revived Marvel series. This is his first major role in a superhero project. The show, starring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, picks up the story of Matt Murdock, a lawyer who fights crime as a vigilante, and Wilson Fisk, a powerful crime boss.
James Gunn, who now leads DC Studios, is building out his new DC Universe with projects like Superman, Creature Commandos, and a second season of Peacemaker. He and actor James Lillard previously suggested Lillard for the role of Plastic Man to Warner Bros., and fans are still hoping to see that happen in the revamped DCU.
DC Studios has not confirmed any casting talks with Lillard.
