Daredevil: Born Again Villain Actor Addresses Potential Season 2 Return

Born Again‘ has expressed his interest in reprising his role for the second season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s revival series. After a gap of seven years since his Netflix series ended, Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock, facing off against some of his most recognized foes such as Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Bullseye (Wilson Bethel). Hunter Doohan debuted in the MCU as the notorious serial killer Muse in the same series, and he is now eager to reappear in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 2.

Hunter Doohan expressed enthusiasm about possibly reprising his role as Muse in the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” sharing with IndieWire that he found the character “so fun.” He jokingly pondered over why people often perceive him as a serial killer or why his characters seem to be frequently written out with gunshot wounds in TV shows. Muse, who was portrayed by Doohan in season 1 of “Born Again,” tortured and murdered various New Yorkers, using their drained blood for political graffiti. Despite appearing to have been killed off by Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva) in a confrontation with Daredevil, Doohan expressed his hope that the chilling antagonist could make a comeback.

As a devoted fan, I’ve always marveled at the mysterious figure known as Muse in Marvel Comics. His human identity remains veiled, even to this day, adding an air of intrigue around his persona. First glimpsed in the 2016 issue #11 of Daredevil (Vol. 5), he was introduced as an Inhuman, using grisly and violent art to voice his discontent against the NYPD and the Mayor of New York, Wilson Fisk. However, in Daredevil: Born Again, things took a surprising turn – he was given a name, a comprehensive backstory, and his Inhuman identity was stripped away, replaced with a profound passion and mastery over martial arts. This transformation sparked controversy among fans, but left us eager for more insights into this complex character’s development.

In the finale of Daredevil: Born Again’s first season, Muse met a tragic end at the hands of Heather Glenn in episode 7 titled “Art for Art’s Sake.” Yet, there is a strong desire among fans for his character to resurface in season 2. Some speculate that the Muse we saw in season 1 might not have been the genuine article, or perhaps his Inhuman abilities could reemerge even after his death. Regardless of the circumstances, it would be thrilling to witness Muse’s return to wreak havoc once more across the Wilson Fisk-dominated New York City. If he does indeed make a comeback, Muse will undoubtedly add an exciting element to Daredevil: Born Again’s second season narrative.

In the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, the main adversaries are Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin, and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force, who have amassed greater power and control over New York City than ever before following the imposition of martial law. There’s talk that Kingpin may enlist more villains to uphold his anti-vigilante laws – a tactic he employs with the Thunderbolts in the 2021 Marvel Comics’ Devil’s Reign series. Fortunately, Daredevil will have help from The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal), White Tiger (Camila Rodriguez), and the return of Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) in the fight against Fisk, making the upcoming season even more enticing.
