Indie publisher indie.io and developer Sword and Axe have announced that their strategy RPG, Dark Deity II, will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series starting November 7th.
Dark Deity II first launched for PC via Steam on March 24, followed by Switch on September 4.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
The world of Dark Deity returns! After twenty-five years, Irving and the Eternal Order have worked hard to rebuild Verroa, hoping to shield it from another war. But their peace won’t last long. The powerful Asverellian Empire is looking to expand, and Verroa, a divided and vulnerable nation, seems like an easy target. Only the Order and a small group of twenty promising heroes stand in their way.
Lead the Eternal Delegation, the family of Irving, as Gwyn and Riordian work to forge crucial alliances in the dangerous land of Verroa. The fate of the upcoming war rests on your choices, which will shape your army and determine who you can trust. With extensive customization options, every game will be a unique experience.
Put simply, Dark Deity II is about playing your way, all the way.
Strategize and Prevail
At its core, Dark Deity II is a game about strategic, turn-based battles. You’ll control a team of 20 heroes, and each one can specialize in one of 45 different classes. These classes all offer unique skills, benefits, and ways to approach combat.
Things get really interesting once you start trying out different skills, abilities, and equipment. These can dramatically alter how your units fight and force you to rethink your strategies – often for the better.
When heroes face overwhelming challenges, powerful connections can form. Difficult times often strengthen friendships, but they can also lead to conflict and broken bonds. Can you navigate these delicate relationships and keep your team together?
Make Your Decisions Wisely
Facing a powerful enemy, the realm is consumed by war, fear, and internal conflict. With enemies hidden everywhere, winning will demand tough decisions.
Okay, so Verroa is a total mess – it’s split into tons of different groups, and even those groups are fighting amongst themselves. I’m gonna have to pick sides, decide who gets my help and who… doesn’t. But I need to think this through because whatever I choose is gonna seriously impact how the battles play out. It’s a big responsibility!
As a huge fan, what I love about this game is that every decision really matters. It’s not just about picking dialogue options – your choices genuinely shape how the whole game unfolds. Honestly, no two times playing are ever alike! Something that worked brilliantly in one playthrough could totally backfire the next, which keeps things incredibly exciting.
Twist the Threads of Destiny
Every time you play Dark Deity II, you’ll have a unique experience, and now you can take that even further! Inspired by roguelite games, we’ve added Twisted Destiny mode. This lets you play a faster version of the campaign with a different, randomly generated team each time. You’ll explore new levels, revisit modified ones, and earn rewards that can dramatically change how you approach future playthroughs!
