Even imprisoned Booster Gold mentions that the battle for the future seems to already be lost. The latest issue of Absolute Superman may have provided a significant hint regarding this. Superman recently interacted with a Father Box, indicating that whatever Darkseid’s intentions are for the Absolute Universe, they likely revolve around Superman.

Superman Is the Center of the DC Universe

In a special edition titled DC All In, it was disclosed that Superman’s optimistic essence serves as the foundation for the DC Multiverse. Previously, we understood that Superman is the bedrock of this multiverse, with the series Doomsday Clock demonstrating that altering Superman’s timeline brings about drastic changes throughout all existence. The course of time in the DC Universe centers around Superman’s life, and his deeds inspire the formation of the Legion of Super-Heroes in a distant future. Superman’s life has a profound impact on the universe, shaping it for the better. Superman Becoming a Monster Inspires Darkseid’s Legion

In this cinematic review, I find myself in a universe where the Lazarus Corporation wields near-absolute power over Earth, a situation fiercely challenged by both Superman and the enigmatic Omega Men – a group ready to employ extreme measures to dismantle the corporation. A close call with Metallo leaves Superman on the brink, but the Omega Men swoop in to save him, utilizing a Father Box – a twisted replica of the Mother Box – to extract the lethal bullets. These sentient machines, tainted by Darkseid’s influence, possess an array of miraculous abilities and seem to draw power not only from Anti-Life but potentially from Darkseid himself.

The Father Box communicated with Superman after his recovery, and Sol cautioned him about its sinister intentions. The Omega Men appear to be manipulated by Darkseid, employing tactics that blur the line between resistance and villainy – fighting darkness with a darker shadow, forgetting that light is still an option. Their influence even extends to Superman himself, as he demonstrates hesitation in saving a Peacekeeper when Primus attempted to execute him on a mission together.

Superman serves as an inspiration for the Legion, and this could be a consistent trait across multiple universes, just like his arrival on Earth. However, if Superman is driven too far and becomes a creature of uncontrollable rage as many expect him to be, then in the distant future, the Legion might not view him as a hero but rather as a villain. Superman’s struggle isn’t confined to just saving his planet; it’s about preserving the entire universe. Darkseid aims to twist the universe’s most powerful superhero into an embodiment of utter darkness, extinguishing all light. If Superman fails to resist this darkness, there may be no one else who can. Darkseid plans to use his arch-nemesis as a tool for his greatest triumph, creating an evil Legion to dominate the multiverse. The last glimmer of hope in the cosmos is Superman’s humanity, and without it, I believe we are doomed. Unbeknownst to him, Superman fights for all of us.
