At the THQ Nordic 2024 event, there was a sneak peek, and now officially confirmed is Darksiders 4. This upcoming game is being developed by Gunfire Games and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. However, the specific launch date remains undisclosed at this time.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the latest trailer and updates confirm the sequel is the first cooperative title in this series, as listed on Xbox Store. This epic adventure unfolds post-events of the first game, where you can now control all four Horsemen – War, Strife, Fury, and Death. Although it’s designed for two to four players, you have the option to embark on this journey solo if you prefer.
For seasoned fans, the gameplay will seem quite familiar – it’s an action-adventure experience in a third-person perspective, featuring swift melee battles, extraordinary powers, and smooth movement. Players will journey through desolate landscapes to uncover mysteries and battle legendary adversaries.
It’s intriguing to consider how Gunfire Games’ expertise in cooperative gameplay, demonstrated in games like ‘Remnant: From the Ashes’ and its sequel ‘Remnant 2’, might influence ‘Darksiders 4’. Notably, many of the studio’s developers, including founder David Adams, were previously part of Vigil Games, who worked on the initial Darksiders titles. Keep an eye out for further updates in the meantime.
