Dave Franco is hopping into a big celebration.
He and his wife, Alison Brie, are approaching their ninth wedding anniversary. While they usually keep their celebrations simple, reaching nine years together feels particularly special to them.
I was so excited to hear Dave tell Erin Lim Rhodes at the Hoppers premiere in LA that they’d already had a little celebration! Apparently, the whole team went up to Ojai last weekend to mark the occasion. It’s amazing to get a peek behind the scenes like that!
We’re great at taking short trips – just hopping in the car and going somewhere a few hours away.
The actor from The Disaster Artist explained that he and Alison, 43, are both very busy with work, so they don’t always have a lot of time together.
Dave explained that for special occasions, they like to escape and spend quality time together. For their ninth anniversary, they chose to travel to Ojai.
After nine years of marriage and a total of fifteen years together, Dave has reached a milestone his wife, Alison, achieved back in 2017: getting Meryl Streep to play his mother in a movie. The acclaimed actress voices The Insect Queen in Hoppers, which comes out March 6th, and she’s the mom of Dave’s character, Titus.
Dave playfully explained to TopMob that his wife used to love reminding him that Meryl Streep played her mother in Steven Spielberg’s film, The Post. But now, the tables have turned, and they’re finally on equal footing.

Although he and Alison enjoy a little healthy competition with each other, they believe they know the key to their lasting relationship.
Alison told TopMob News in 2021 that she disliked the common phrase, ‘My husband is my best friend,’ but admitted she’d often felt that way about her own husband, sometimes thinking, ‘You really are my best friend!’
I just adore spending time with him – he’s truly my favorite person. We have so much in common, it’s amazing! Even during the past year, when things were quiet and we were mostly staying in, we just naturally moved at the same pace and supported each other perfectly. It’s a really comfortable and special connection.
