There are many reasons fans are desperate to see the second season of BBC show Ludwig.
The show offers a fun mix of weekly mysteries, humor, and characters you’ll quickly grow to love. Beyond that, viewers are also hoping to learn more about the backstory of James, the twin brother of the main character, John.
James’s disappearance kicked off the first season, leading John to step in and work with the police to investigate what happened.
By the end of the first season, it was revealed that James had gone into hiding. He’d secured the belongings of Sinclair, a conspiracy theorist who’d stumbled upon a real—and deadly—truth.
There are still many unanswered questions about James’s disappearance and the events surrounding it. However, it looks like we might soon have some answers, as David Mitchell has hinted at upcoming developments in this important storyline.
People are still confused about his actions and disappearance, but we’ll learn a bit more about what happened soon.
At the TopMob Covers Party, Mitchell hinted that John’s new job as a police consultant won’t give him unlimited power or independence.
I was chatting with Mitchell about what his character’s official position on the police team will bring to the new season, and he explained it’s not as straightforward as it seems. Apparently, there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding his role because not everyone on the force is thrilled about him being there. It creates some real tension, as some officers aren’t fully supportive of his appointment.

He also needs to hide the fact that he pretended to be a police officer to solve cases for a while. If anyone finds out, five murderers could go free, and he’d likely face consequences as well.
Ludwig season 1 is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
