Independent game developer PARASIGHT, renowned for their hit title BLACKTAIL, has unveiled DAVY x JONES, their pirate-themed first-person action-adventure on Steam Early Access. To celebrate its launch, a chilling discount is being offered to players. This exclusive offer is only available for the initial 6 days, 6 hours, and 6 minutes, priced at $6.66. The promotion concludes on September 4, after which the price will increase to $9.99 / £8.50 / €9.75.
Death Is Only the Beginning in DAVY x JONES
In this extraordinary pirate action-adventure game, I find myself stepping into the shoes of the legendary Davy Jones. Betrayed, looted, and beheaded, I mysteriously awaken within The Locker – a bizarre pirate underworld where cursed islands float aimlessly in an eternity of cloud-covered seas.
As Jones’ bodiless avatar, I command his headless body, accompanied by his quip-cracking detached skull. Together, we embark on a mission to retrieve stolen artifacts and engage in epic battles against fabled adversaries like Blackbeard himself. Equipped with sword, gun, and my trusty whale-hybrid ship’s grappling tentacle, I rally a crew cursed by fate, steer Abby (my living vessel), and confront towering monstrosities in an endeavor to break free from the abyssal depths.
Early Access Roadmap
The Steam Early Access launch includes:
- Core first-person combat and traversal systems
- Several cursed islands of The Locker to explore
- Legendary weapons and unlockable skills
- Cinematic executions and dark storytelling
- A host of underworld fiends and cursed souls
During Early Access, additional content will continuously be introduced, causing the price to climb up incrementally. The complete version (1.0) is expected to launch on both PC and consoles towards the end of 2026.
Developer Statement
Bartosz Kaproń, CEO and Creative Director at PARASIGHT, shared that they aimed to let players join DAVY x JONES right away at a reduced cost. He mentioned there’s already a wealth of content available for exploration, and every bit of feedback received helps them create a truly remarkable pirate adventure in the final release by refining it based on user input.
