Days of Our Lives Star Al Calderon Confirms Exit From Soap Opera

Al Calderon is bidding farewell to his time on Days of Our Lives.

The actor who began portraying Javi Hernandez on the popular soap opera last year, a role that includes relatives of characters Rafe (Galen Gering) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), has announced his departure from the television show.

On August 6th, Calderon expressed on his Instagram Stories that his time on “Days of Our Lives” has been incredibly transformative for him. He is deeply appreciative to the cast, crew, and creative team who made him feel recognized, valued, and included as part of a cherished family legacy.

31-years-old said, “I’ll take the affection, insights, and moments with me on each adventure I embark on. Though I’m merely a single grain of sand, I’m content that I managed to move through time.

Despite his departure, Calderon left the door open for Javi’s possible return in the future.

“As my mom used to tell me,” he wrote, “it’s not goodbye, just see you later.”

Calderon concluded his message with a special shout-out to fans: “I love you forever.”

What’s the reason behind his early departure from the series? It’s because he’s already committed and engaged with another successful TV show.

It was announced last month that Calderon will be part of the cast for season two of the medical drama, “Brilliant Minds,” which is led by Zachary Quinto on NBC.

She posted on Instagram on July 29, ‘Give me a moment to put on my medical attire,’ accompanied by a screenshot of news about her upcoming acting role. ‘A big thank you to my team, my support system, and my friends – I couldn’t have achieved this without the constant help from my right-hand partner.’

Calderon’s final DOOL episode will reportedly air in May of next year, according to Deadline.

Regardless, the moment when his character was viciously impaled left quite an impact.

Later on, he clarified to Vanity Fair that he initially agreed to take a job, completed it, and then moved on to do some additional tasks. In essence, that’s the entire account. He expressed his hope that the tale was more exciting than just completing assigned tasks.

In 2018, Ruby Rose appeared for the first time in the Arrowverse crossover and later starred as Kate Kane, also known as Batwoman, in a CW drama series. This marked a significant milestone as Batwoman, a lesbian superhero, was the first to lead her own show on television. However, she announced her departure from the role just two days after the season one finale in 2020. As a dedicated follower of “The Walking Dead,” I bid farewell to the series in 2018 after lengthy contract discussions. Although I graced a few episodes during season nine, my character Maggie Greene was mysteriously absent following a significant six-year time leap. The producers harbored hopes that I might reappear for season 10, and with the cancellation of my short-lived ABC series “Whiskey Cavalier,” their wish came true. I made a triumphant return in the 16th episode of this season, which aired in October 2020.

Actor Clayne Crawford was dismissed from the series following the second season, while Damon Wayans, his on-screen partner, declared his intention to leave the successful drama after completing a 13-episode third season in December 2018. As he said in October of that year, “I’m planning to quit the show when we finish the initial 13 episodes, so I don’t really know what they have planned, but that’s my plan.” Wayans, a 58-year-old diabetic, works long hours and finds the grueling schedule too much, as he stated, “I’m getting too old for this.

As a lifestyle expert, I must share that fortunately, the producers weren’t required to devise a new strategy for the show, as it concluded gracefully at the end of its third season.
