DC recently released a teaser for Darkseid merchandise, leading fans to wonder if the ‘SnyderVerse‘ might be making a comeback. Darkseid was a key figure in Zack Snyder’s plans for the DC Universe, first hinted at in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and then fully featured in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. In that version of the story, Darkseid commanded Steppenwolf’s invasion of Earth and planned to find the powerful Anti-Life Equation. This new merchandise has given fans hope that Darkseid’s story isn’t over yet.
DC and Infinity Studio just unveiled a striking preview of their Darkseid collectible, based on Zack Snyder’s version of the character. Fans can now pre-order a huge, life-size bust of Darkseid for $5,599. This impressive statue is massive, measuring approximately 4.5 feet in height, width, and 3.4 feet in depth.
This bust of Darkseid is modeled after his look in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, capturing his powerful and detailed design from the film. It’s designed to be a strikingly accurate and imposing representation of the character, mirroring his unmatched strength and presence.
This incredibly detailed, life-size bust captures the character with remarkable artistry, especially in the fine details of his face. The sculptor used deep lines to emphasize every feature, and faithfully recreated his distinctive helmet and armor, just as they appear in Snyder’s film.

The character’s intensely glowing red eyes instantly grab your attention. Infinity Studio revealed on Instagram that they’re lit with LEDs, creating the impression they’re about to unleash a powerful energy blast.

Even the omega symbol on his belt is clearly visible, immediately connecting him to Darkseid with one of his most famous icons.
His posture really brings his character to life. He raises one hand as if making a threatening or magical sign, while keeping the other tightly clenched behind him, suggesting immense power and confidence.

As a movie fan, I was really struck by the detail in his back armor. It wasn’t just smooth metal; it looked like layers of alien plating, giving you a real sense of how tough and prepared for battle this character was. It really helped sell the idea that he was a serious fighter.

The character’s incredibly realistic, rocky skin was created using a special material called PolyStone, making it look and feel more real than previous CGI creations.

Looking at the character from the side reveals even more detail, and it’s interesting to note that the actor, Ray Porter, later appeared in another DC project with a different role.

As a huge fan of Zack Snyder, I have to say this Darkseid figure is incredible. The sculptors really didn’t miss a single detail – every line, every wrinkle, it’s all there. It’s a truly stunning piece, but be warned, it definitely comes with a hefty price tag!

Even though it only shows his shoulders and head, the sculpture is surprisingly large compared to a real person, creating a powerful and imposing impression similar to how the character is shown in movies.

This Darkseid statue looks very similar to the digital version from the DC movies, with the same large size and details carved to resemble stone.

I’ve noticed this actor has a really commanding screen presence – it instantly reminded me of Josh Brolin as Thanos. It’s funny, because it seems like the folks building the DC Universe are still trying to find someone who can bring that same kind of powerful energy to one of their roles.

The physical statue often appears more visually appealing because it captures a sharp, clear version of Snyder’s design, unlike digital characters which can sometimes appear slightly blurry or soft.

The creature’s eyes are noticeably different than in the movies. They’re a consistent red color in this version, while the film version would often change from white to a lighter red before it used its full power.

Even though DC Studios has reimagined the classic villain Darkseid, co-CEO James Gunn has stated there aren’t any immediate plans to include him in the new DC Universe. This is partly due to the similar villain Thanos already being featured in Marvel’s films.
Despite the SnyderVerse being over, new merchandise continues to appear, suggesting fans haven’t lost interest in that take on DC. This has led many to wonder if it might make a comeback in some way.
Will Darkseid Ever Appear in the DCU?
Currently, James Gunn’s DC Universe doesn’t have plans to include the villain Darkseid. Instead, the focus is on characters like Brainiac and Lex Luthor (played by Nicholas Hoult). The upcoming film, Man of Tomorrow, is expected to introduce Brainiac to the big screen for the first time, establishing him as a significant threat on par with the Justice League. Meanwhile, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor is being developed as a recurring villain, not just someone defeated in a single story.
A lot of fans believe Darkseid shouldn’t appear until DC fully develops the New Gods story (a project that was previously cancelled), allowing for a thorough exploration of his world, Apokolips. Plus, since James Gunn doesn’t like meaningless post-credit scenes, it’s improbable Darkseid will be introduced that way. Therefore, he’s more likely to appear further down the line in the DC Universe, rather than appearing soon.
