DC Officially Confirms Killer Croc’s Design For Batman’s Next Appearance

DC recently unveiled the new design for Killer Croc in the upcoming Batman film through its trailer, and he looks as fans anticipated. While a recognizable villain, Killer Croc hasn’t yet had a standout role in Batman adaptations. He previously appeared in live-action as part of the DC Extended Universe in the 2016 film, Suicide Squad, which received mixed reactions.

Killer Croc has shown up in various animated projects, showcasing different facets of his personality, but he hasn’t yet had a starring role. That might be about to change with the new Batman TV show coming in 2025, where Killer Croc will be a key opponent for the hero.

DC Has Revealed What Bat-Fam’s Killer Croc Looks Like

The first trailer for the new animated series, Bat-Fam, is out now! The show premieres on Prime Video November 10th and offers a unique twist on the classic Bat-Family concept. Instead of heroes like Nightwing and Batgirl, it features reformed villains – including Ra’s al Ghul, Man-Bat, and Volcana – as part of the Bat-Family team.

Killer Croc will be a villain in the new Batman TV series, but unlike some other characters, he won’t be portrayed as a reformed hero. The trailer shows him actively fighting Batman as part of a larger group. Killer Croc is teaming up with Clayface, Solomon Grundy, Mad Hatter, and Livewire to steal something from a Wayne Enterprises storage facility.

The Bat-Fam trailer gives us a brief look at Killer Croc, but it’s enough to see his new design. He has green skin, red eyes, visible scales, and a lot of sharp teeth, making him a massive and intimidating figure. Even so, the trailer suggests Batman is holding his own in the fight, as we see Batman hit Killer Croc hard in the face.

How Bat-Fam’s Killer Croc Compares To Other Versions Of The Batman Villain?

Killer Croc’s appearance has varied across different animated series. In the classic Batman: The Animated Series, he wasn’t the bright green color he’s known for – instead, he had a pale gray complexion. He also looked more like a human than a reptile. Later, in The New Batman Adventures, he gained green skin, but his scales weren’t as detailed as they would become in the Bat-Fam series.

Most animated depictions of Killer Croc use either green or brown for his skin, and his appearance varies – some versions are more human-like, others are much larger, and a few look completely reptilian. The live-action Killer Croc in Suicide Squad was a large, gray human covered in scales. That makes the Bat-Family animated series’ version of Killer Croc stand out, as it has a unique and stylized design perfect for the show.
