DC Reveals 2026 Pride Lineup (Including a new Justice League Event & Fan Favorite Sequel)

Every summer, DC Comics honors the LGBTQ+ community with DC Pride, featuring stories and special covers that celebrate their diversity and vibrancy through comics. This year’s DC Pride event, happening in 2026, will have a unique twist – a space-themed focus! DC Comics just announced the lineup, and it’s packed with exciting content, including a continuation of a popular graphic novel, a new four-part Justice League series, and other stories.

This spring, DC is launching a Pride initiative that will feature both established and new comic storylines. At the center of this initiative are the characters Galaxy and Dreamer, who have been part of the DC universe for some time. Their stories will continue in three connected comics released throughout Pride Month and after.

According to DC editor Andrea Shea, DC Pride has consistently focused on showcasing LGBTQ+ characters, introducing ongoing storylines, and celebrating the creators involved. She explains that the plans for 2026 represent the culmination of five years of work, delivering stories that fit directly into the main DC universe and continue the journeys of fan-favorite characters.

An Eagerly Anticipated Galaxy Sequel and a Justice League Event Are Coming to DC Pride

This May, DC is releasing the eagerly awaited sequel to the graphic novel Galaxy: The Prettiest Star, titled Galaxy: As the World Falls Down. Written by Jadzia Axelrod, with artwork by Rye Hickman and lettering by Jodie Troutman, the story follows Taylor Barclay as she battles the alien Vane, explores her identity, and strengthens her bond with Nia Nal, also known as Dreamer. Author Jadzia Axelrod describes the graphic novel as a story about life after coming out. It will be available on May 5th.

The Justice League Intergalactic Special #1 arrives on April 29th. This special issue teams up Galaxy and Dreamer for the first time in the main DC universe, ahead of the Galaxy sequel. Written by Jadzia Axelrod and Nicole Maines, with art by Travis Moore, colors by Tamra Bonvillain, and lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, the story continues Dreamer’s journey after the events of Absolute Power and Secret Six, and picks up on Galaxy’s adventures following her appearances in Hawkgirl. According to DC, the story centers on the planet Naltor and its Green Lantern protectors, who fall under the control of the Witch Queen. She’s using the planet’s dream energy to expand her power. Star Sapphire gathers a team of Justice Leaguers to help, and Galaxy brings Dreamer along secretly – a risky move, as Dreamer is currently viewed more as a criminal than a hero.

This June, DC Pride presents Justice League: Dream Girls, a four-issue series co-written by Nicole Maines and Jadzia Axelrod, with art by a talented team including Nicola Scott and Klaus Janson. The story begins after the Justice League Intergalactic Special, finding Dreamer and Galaxy mysteriously waking up on Themyscira, living what seems like a perfect life as princess and champion. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when a stranger arrives, warning Dreamer that she must leave paradise to save the world. As things begin to change around them, they realize something is very wrong. Each issue will include a new eight-page story expanding on the main plot, with tales featuring Batwoman, the Green Lantern Corps, and Poison Ivy. Issue #4 will also feature a special personal story by Klaus Janson, details of which will be announced soon.

This year’s Pride celebration will feature a special hardcover collection of the 2025 DC Pride one-shot, titled ‘DC Pride: The Heart Wants,’ plus unique Pride-themed variant covers throughout DC’s comic book series all month long. Look for these special covers on issues of Batwoman #4, Emperor Aquaman #18, Justice League Unlimited #20, Wonder Woman #34, New Titans #36, Poison Ivy #45, Harley Quinn #63, and Detective Comics #110.
