In this transformed reality, our heroes find themselves struggling in a grim and ominous world, taking on the role of underdogs. This situation led to the introduction of the Absolute DC comic series, with plans for the universe to have its own event series named Absolute Evil.

Simultaneously, the Justice League has regrouped under the new name “Justice League Unlimited.” The cunning Darkseid has fashioned an evil duplicate of the Legion of Super-Heroes who have overpowered Booster Gold and vanquished all incarnations of the virtuous Legion. In a world where Earth is gradually influenced by the Heart of Apokolips, buried within its core, a tournament named “DC K.O.” transpires.
