As a lifelong movie fan, I truly believe Superman is where it all started with superheroes. He’s basically the blueprint for everyone who came after – you can see his influence in pretty much every hero’s backstory or even just how they look! Seriously, he kicked off the whole genre and, honestly, remains the gold standard. That incredible combination of being a genuinely good person and ridiculously powerful… that’s what made us all dream of flying. No one has ever – and I don’t think anyone ever will – have quite the same cultural impact as Superman. He just embodies everything a hero should be.
It’s no surprise that many heroes have tried to emulate Superman. Clones and similar characters are common, and even DC Comics itself has revisited the concept multiple times, creating variations and new characters inspired by their iconic hero. While each of these characters brings something different to the table, we’re focusing on sheer power as we rank the seven strongest Superman-inspired heroes in the DC Universe.
7) Hyper-Man

This list features characters who are all nearly equal in power – almost anyone here could beat Superman in a fight. That’s why small advantages matter when ranking them. Hyper-Man is ranked lower because his origin story is very similar to Superman’s; he also gained immense strength on an adopted home planet, Oceania. While he seems to have the same powers as Superman, we haven’t seen enough of him to accurately gauge his true strength. He might be just as powerful as Superman, or slightly weaker. Regardless, he’s clearly incredibly strong and deserves a place on this list, but I need more evidence before ranking him higher.
6) Mon-El

Mon-El is a powerful alien from the planet Daxam, possessing abilities comparable to those of Kryptonians like Superman. He once worked with Clark Kent (as Superboy) and proved to be equally strong, even fighting alongside Superman and Supergirl in the Legion of Super-Heroes. However, he’s often ranked lower because he typically loses fights against Kryptonians, even though he could potentially match their power levels. His abilities are very similar to Superman’s, while other heroes have more unique strengths that give them an edge.
5) Icon

Icon is like the Dakotaverse’s version of Superman. He’s an alien called a Terminan who lived for centuries before becoming a hero. He’s just as strong, if not stronger, than Superman – Superman himself said Icon hit harder than Darkseid during their fight in World’s Collide. However, it’s hard to compare them because Icon rarely faces truly challenging opponents. He usually deals with smaller, more realistic threats. While they’re both incredibly powerful, Superman is probably slightly stronger overall, though Icon’s feats are still very impressive.
4) Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is almost as physically strong as Superman, but he has three additional abilities that make him incredibly powerful. He can shapeshift into virtually anything, alter his density to become either intangible or nearly indestructible, and read minds – he’s actually the most skilled telepath on Earth! He’s capable of controlling many minds at once, and without holding back, could even link with every mind simultaneously. Superman himself has admitted being afraid to fight J’onn, and understandably so, as Martian Manhunter could potentially win a fight before anyone realizes it’s begun.
3) Bizarro

The first Bizarro was truly Superman’s clone, and a flawed one at that. He has powers that are like Superman’s, but reversed. This alone makes him remarkable, but he’s recently started using magic, which is a huge advantage since Superman is vulnerable to it. Because he’s Superman’s opposite, Bizarro is naturally gifted with magic – he even once magically altered the entire world! By combining magic with his already immense strength, Bizarro once sent Superman flying all the way to Jupiter. That’s an incredible display of power, and if he focused on developing his magical abilities, Bizarro could become even more powerful.
2) Cyborg Superman

As a huge fan of DC comics, let me tell you about Hank Henshaw – he’s seriously powerful! Before becoming who he is now, he was just pure energy. Then things got really interesting. He linked up with this Kryptonian technology used for creating life and basically made a clone of Superman himself, but then added all sorts of cybernetic enhancements. That means Cyborg Superman is physically on par with Clark Kent; he’s got the same strength! But it doesn’t stop there. Henshaw can manipulate technology like nobody’s business – he can absorb any advanced tech and instantly improve his own abilities. We’re talking about a guy who casually enslaved Mongul and regularly battles entire groups of Green Lanterns! He’s a real threat, plain and simple.
1) Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel, one of the earliest Superman clones, is remarkably powerful – some even argue he’s stronger. He’s battled Superman countless times without a decisive victor. Beyond incredible strength, Captain Marvel wields potent magic, including divine lightning capable of defeating almost any enemy. When teaming up with Black Adam, he can even overcome incredibly powerful beings like Superboy-Prime. Captain Marvel’s origins as a Superman imitation are clear, and his power level is truly extraordinary.
