A fresh photo of the upcoming Clayface set, taken in the UK, has appeared online showcasing a captivating poster. Starring Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries, this body horror film by DC Studios is slated to premiere in cinemas on September 11, 2026.
What does the new Clayface set photo show?
A picture from X was posted, offering a glimpse into the filming process. This sneak peek image hints at the possible arrival of Dick Grayson in the DC Universe, who is famously known as the original Robin character. Recently, Dick Grayson has been teased on the set of the live-action Clayface movie, joining the likes of the Joker and Penguin as Batman characters that have been hinted at. At this point, it remains to be seen whether these subtle references will have a substantial impact on the movie’s plot.
In the world of comics, Dick Grayson, prior to being adopted by Bruce Wayne, belonged to the Flying Graysons – a family known for their trapeze acts in a circus. As he matured, Dick chose to carve out his own destiny by adopting the role of a different superhero named Nightwing. This character has been portrayed by Burt Ward in the iconic 1960s Batman series and by Brenton Thwaites in the Titans television show.
The upcoming Clayface film is being helmed by James Watkins, recognized for his work on Speak No Evil. Mike Flanagan penned the script. Originating from characters crafted by Bill Finger and Bob Kane for DC Comics, the principal character is a renowned Batman adversary known for shape-shifting abilities and beloved by fans. Classified as a body horror thriller, the project allegedly revolves around a struggling B-movie actor resorting to self-administering a substance to maintain his fame, offering a chilling exploration of Hollywood horrors.
James Gunn, one of the co-CEOs at DC Studios, expressed that he and Matt Reeves were thoroughly impressed by Harries’ audition. Prior to securing his prominent role, the Welsh actor had previously appeared in supporting roles in films like 2019’s The Gentlemen and 2023’s Kandahar. Additionally, he has been featured on various British television shows including Suspicion, The Split, and Doctor Who.
