It seems that the third installment of the Dead Island game series, titled Dead Island 3, is currently being developed and will introduce a fresh setting to the franchise. The Dead Island series, despite having only a handful of games, has been around for quite some time now. Dead Island, initially launched in 2011, generated a significant amount of buzz due to its emotionally stirring advertisements, most notably one featuring a family on vacation who are brutally attacked by zombies. A spin-off called Dead Island: Riptide was released shortly after, but it didn’t get great reviews. Nevertheless, enthusiasts were eager for another sequel, Dead Island 2, which was set to take place in Los Angeles. However, it took almost a decade before it finally saw the light of day.
It’s great news that, despite the rocky development process, Dead Island 2 turned out to be quite enjoyable for many. Fans were skeptical about its eventual release given the numerous changes in developers and obstacles faced during development. However, they found it to be quite entertaining, even though it was relatively smaller in scale compared to other games of its genre, as it lacked vehicles and had a more confined setting, possibly due to compromises made during its development. Interestingly, according to the developer Dambuster, over 20 million people have played Dead Island 2, making it a massive success. Furthermore, the game received strong support post-launch, which likely kept players returning even after its release.
Dead Island 3 Is in the Works
Due to its triumph, Dambuster Studios has disclosed that they are currently developing Dead Island 3, or its official title yet to be determined. Regrettably, specific details about the game remain scarce at this time. However, a teaser image suggests that players might depart from Los Angeles and venture into a new, undisclosed location. In the picture, a character is attempting to thumb a ride in the desert, presumably still within the western United States. Notable stickers on his bag hint towards previous locations like Los Angeles and Banoi Island (where the original game took place), as well as potential new destinations such as Ireland, Rome, and Australia.
Fourteen years ago, Dead Island first appeared with its bloody introduction. Now, Dead Island 2 has pulled in 20 million players into the sun-soaked madness of HELL-A. The next outbreak? Dambuster Studios is already knee-deep in preparations. The adventure continues…#DeadIsland

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but speculate about the potential destinations for Dead Island 3. While it’s exciting to imagine a globe-trotting adventure, I suspect that some of these rumored locations might be mere red herrings – intended to keep us guessing and avoid revealing the actual setting just yet.
Perhaps Dambuster Studios is exploring numerous options at present, and they’re not ready to disclose their decision or may even use our collective enthusiasm as a compass to steer the series in an exciting new direction. Either way, I’m thrilled that more zombie-slaying action is on the horizon!
I hope Dead Island 3 will arrive sooner than its predecessor, Dead Island 2, but it seems like Dambuster has learned from their experiences and is well-prepared to deliver another great chapter in this gory yet engaging series.
