The game Dead Space begins with a distress call from three scientists – Dr. Salinger, Dr. Darden, and Dr. Stote – who realize their scientific experiment has gone terribly wrong. Commander Krieger responds to their call for help, but upon arrival, the scientists surprisingly try to cover up what happened and continue their work.
Krieger is tasked with defending against a rapidly spreading creature and the dangerous virus it carries. As the infection overwhelms the crew, it’s a desperate fight for survival, forcing difficult choices to protect the wider universe.
Verdict on Dead Space
Recap
The film centers around a scientific lab that’s been hit by a dangerous virus they accidentally created. A protagonist must work with them to find the source of the outbreak and stop it from spreading, potentially saving the universe from irreversible damage.
Best Parts
The isolated location is the highlight of the story.
Worst Parts
The movie has one scene that truly stands out, receiving noticeably more attention than the rest of the film. However, the horror elements generally aren’t very frightening, and ultimately, the movie feels like a less impactful version of ‘The Thing’ set in space.
Final Thoughts –Dead Space struggles to get enough scares for the bigger picture.
