Deadlock Drifter Guide: Tips & How To Suck

Take a bite of my latest Deadlock Drifter guide and stop sucking the wrong way!

Valve dropped a bunch of new champs for the game, including two vampires.

But how does Drifter fare, and is he worth the whole eternal damnation stick?

Deadlock Drifter Stalker

Initially, the character known as the Deadlock Drifter functions as a specialized assassin, similar to Warwick. He thrives in situations where he can eliminate opponents singlehandedly, often in secluded areas like a dimly lit alleyway. Furthermore, he boasts several options for pursuit, ensuring he can effectively chase down his targets.

Despite being nothing like a werewolf, he shares a comparable scent of blood with Warwick, which can help identify nearby champions who have low health.

Before criticizing anyone, remember to consider their playstyle, as they’re not necessarily weak, but mastering them can be challenging due to their trickiness.

This Louisiana-inspired vampire character exhibits a fiercely aggressive and confrontational demeanor, often engaging in close combat with powerful slaps. His gameplay revolves around dealing damage, causing bleeding effects, and swiftly moving behind foes to deliver a surprise punch.

Kicking things off with the character Deadlock Drifter, his initial skill, Rend, is incredibly useful as it’s both ranged and melee, targeting a cone of enemies. In close quarters, it inflicts additional damage. This ability serves perfectly for stealthy chip farming or general attacks.

With Stalker’s Mark, this combo proves quite effective. Here’s how it works: first, you inflict bleeding damage on your target by striking them with this ability. But when you press the ability again, you instantly teleport behind them. The strategy is to start off by attacking from a distance, hit the mark, let the bleeding do its work for a moment, and then quickly transport to deliver a powerful melee attack to finish them off.

Although keep in mind you are warping to the enemy’s back and exposing yourself in team fights.

Moreover, his Blood Scent skill complements this perfectly. Although it primarily functions with isolated champions, it’s effective for managing map control by taking down opponents strategically placed on the map.

I Gank Twilight Every Night

Eventually, Eternal Night (the ultimate ability) ends Deadlock Drifter’s skirmish and affects champions within the area of effect by blinding them and making them visible, while simultaneously increasing Drifter’s speed and spirit damage. Although it’s not as powerful as Vlad’s ultimate, it does provide Drifter with some utility in team fights.

This enhancement to his spirit significantly boosts his attack power, and let’s be honest, it functions as a lifesaver in situations where you’re surrounded by opponents. In other words, I’ve found myself using it often during fights involving multiple champions, or when things start getting tricky.

Despite being designed primarily for single combat, he proves quite effective in team fights. This is due to his powerful ultimate and Rend abilities that allow for impressive crowd control and fight management. His laning phase is also robust, benefiting from a quick ammo recharge rate and solid damage per second (DPS).

In simpler terms, his initial phase, similar to other champion’s aggressive style, can be challenging due to its vulnerability and lack of power in team fights. But with good map awareness, there’s a potential for significant rewards when playing this character.

This guide for the Deadlock Drifter character suggests accumulating numerous melee weapons, up-close combat equipment, and healing items to regenerate health. Additionally, include some boosts for movement speed to facilitate escapes, and voila, you’ve created quite the agile, elusive bloodsucker!

I also have a soft spot for Cajuns, so design-wise he gets a thumbs up from me.
