Ryan Reynolds is currently concentrating his efforts on making the next Deadpool film, according to Puck News. This announcement arrives as his wife, Blake Lively, is involved in a legal dispute with director Justin Baldoni regarding a claim of sexual harassment.
It’s currently unclear what role, if any, Ryan Reynolds will have in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He wasn’t included in the initial cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday, but rumors suggest he might appear as Reed Richards. As of now, though, Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything.
According to a July 2025 report in Variety, Marvel isn’t rushing to start work on a fourth Deadpool movie. They’re currently prioritizing the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, which are planned for 2026.
