Deadpool Returns from the Grave to Fight with a Marvel Villain in New Comic Series

In a thrilling turn of events, Deadpool engages in combat with a nemesis from the Marvel Cinematic Universe following his resurrection. Previously, Wade Wilson captivated fans alongside Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, his exploits took a more serious turn when Deadpool was slain by a fresh antagonist known as Death Grip in his Marvel comic book series. In the aftermath, his daughter Ellie assumed the mantle of Deadpool, with Taskmaster offering tutelage and direction. Remarkably, Ellie managed to revive her father, and the duo, father and daughter, are now resuming their mercenaire business under the banner Deadpool & Daughters. Before they can get back to work, though, Taskmaster must help them regain their fighting form.

In a recent announcement, Marvel unveiled a sneak peek at Deadpool #10 penned by Cody Ziglar, illustrated by Roge Antonio, colored by Guru-eFX, and lettered by Joe Sabino. The story commences within the boxing ring where we find Deadpool, Ellie, and Taskmaster engaged in an intriguing scenario. In anticipation of a father-daughter training sequence, Deadpool and Ellie are under the tutelage of Taskmaster – a character fans became acquainted with through 2021’s Black Widow adaptation. Unlike the original Taskmaster portrayed in Black Widow, who was Tony Masters, this version is Antonia Dreykov, played by Olga Kurylenko on screen. Readers can expect to encounter more of this Taskmaster character when Thunderbolts hits theaters on May 2nd.

Regarding the sneak peek of Deadpool #10, it’s Taskmaster’s plan to retrain Deadpool in combat skills. It seems Deadpool has missed a few moves during his time in the afterlife, and Taskmaster is determined to bring him and Ellie up to speed. The two try to take on Taskmaster simultaneously, but he swiftly handles the situation by firing rubber bullets at Deadpool’s face. Ellie doesn’t have a chance against Taskmaster in a one-on-one fight. After humiliating them both, Taskmaster transports Deadpool and Ellie into a secret lair belonging to a Russian gang. This could be his method of providing Deadpool and Ellie with practical training experience.

How Marvel brought Deadpool back to life

As a passionate movie buff, I find myself captivated by the unique abilities of fictional characters like Ellie and Deadpool. Unlike Deadpool, Ellie inherits a healing factor from her father, but it’s not as potent. However, in a stunning turn of events, a blend of Ellie’s healing power and her own blood managed to revive Deadpool. Heartbreakingly, Valentina, once Deadpool’s love interest, employed alchemy to send Ellie to the afterlife in search of her father. Remarkably, she succeeded in rescuing him there.

Tragically, Death Grip was able to slay Deadpool when he absorbed the Muramasa Blade, a weapon capable of nullifying healing factors. But with Deadpool back from the dead, the dynamic duo of Deadpool & Daughters is stronger than ever, joined by Ellie’s symbiote companion, Princess, who I like to imagine as her symbiotic sister in this cinematic universe.

Deadpool is back in action again! It’s Wade Wilson we’re talking about, and he’s making his comeback in the latest issue of Deadpool #10. But there’s a new Deadpool too! However, Wade’s resurgence isn’t without its price. If Wade and Ellie can’t handle it, this could potentially lead to the disbandment of Deadpool & Daughters. This is an ideal starting point for new readers as we embark on a fresh, new chapter!

The preview of Deadpool #10 is below. The issue goes on sale Wednesday, January 29th.
