Okay, I’m so relieved! Things are finally back to normal on ‘Death in Paradise‘ – Selwyn is officially back as the commissioner, and it just feels right. Season 15 really brought everything back into focus, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier to see him in charge again.
It seemed like Don Warrington’s character was going to leave the show last season when a younger, rather arrogant, officer took his place. Although the head commissioner realized his mistake and offered Selwyn his old job back, Selwyn wasn’t immediately keen to accept.
Last year, the team convinced Selwyn to help with a very difficult Christmas case. Now, he’s glad to be back in his usual role, though things aren’t quite back to normal yet.
The official description reveals that Commissioner Selwyn Patterson is dealing with the consequences of being away, and, with encouragement from his friend Catherine Bordey, he’s resolved to regain the islanders’ trust.

I’m really hooked on this storyline! It turns out Detective Mervin is about to meet his half-brother, Solomon, which is huge. He originally came to Saint Marie hoping to connect with his mother, but then the terrible news came that she’d been murdered. Naturally, he felt he had to stay and find out what happened.
Mervin had almost returned to London after successfully capturing the criminals, but then he learned he had a brother. He decided he needed to meet him before leaving.

Despite initially being happy with his new family, he quickly becomes frustrated when he realizes they don’t share the same values or interests as he expected.
Next week’s episode will see the building tension erupt into a showdown, culminating in Mervin ending up in a swimming pool – whether by accident or on purpose remains to be seen.
You can’t choose your family, and all that…

But it’s not just Mervin’s personal life which tests him in season 15.
The team will be dealing with many strange and puzzling cases. Additionally, the new sergeant, Mattie Fletcher—who is taking over from Darlene Curtis—has a complicated past, according to Gilet.
Naomi and Seb are supposed to help her adjust to the group, but it proves difficult when secrets from her past start to surface.

The show welcomes back a talented main cast and introduces a fresh group of guest stars. This season features Siobhan Finneran, known from Happy Valley, Scarlett Alice Johnson, who originally played Vicki Fowler in EastEnders, Hermione Norris from Spooks, Steffan Rhodri of Gavin & Stacey, and Ben Willbond, a co-creator and star of Ghosts.
Season 15 will feature guest appearances by Sarah Hadland (known from Horrible Histories), Gary Wilmot (Midsomer Murders), Tim McMullan (Shakespeare in Love), Julian Rhind-Tutt (Green Wing), Ace Bhatti (Malpractice), Louis Davison (Vikings: Valhalla), Sean Delaney (Killing Eve), Lizzie Davidson (Such Brave Girls), Kojo Kamara (The Outlaws), Layo-Christina Akinlude (The Stolen Girl), Sandra James-Young (Wild Cherry), Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge (Rematch), and Phoebe Sparrow and Antonia Bernath, who both appeared in Downton Abbey.
