As a long-time admirer of British television series, I must say I was saddened to see Tahj Miles depart from Death in Paradise earlier this year. However, upon reading his recent statements about potentially returning to the show, my heart skipped a beat – if only for a moment.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the possibility of Tahj Miles rejoining the cast of Death in Paradise on the BBC. While he hasn’t explicitly confirmed his return, he mentioned that any potential comeback “has to make sense”. Here’s to hoping for a well-crafted plotline that brings back our beloved character!
Fans of the series felt sad when he departed in March this year, as some may have found his exit puzzling. However, Miles wouldn’t have chosen to leave if it didn’t seem right to him.
“So just know that on my end, it made sense to me,” he added.
If you don’t catch me on the program over the next two or three years, understand that it might not align with the situation at hand, either due to personal choices I’m making or changes in the series, such as the direction they’re taking the show or planning for my character’s return.
I’d return if it feels right, as I dislike senseless actions. Such acts often lead to complications. However, nothing is absolute. The opportunity remains, so let’s wait and see.
In the tenth season of Death in Paradise, Miles took up the role of Marlon, a former thief who transitioned into police work. After appearing in 31 episodes, he bid farewell during season 13 when his character escorted his younger sister to Jamaica after she received a school scholarship offer.
However, he has returned to our television screens with a new BBC series titled “Mr Loverman.” This is an eight-episode adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo’s book by the same name.
In a different light, this drama centers around Lennie James portraying Barry, a 74-year-old Londoner who was born in Antigua and has been married for 50 years. He is gathering the strength to confess his feelings to his wife so he can spend the remainder of his life with his cherished companion Morris, played by Ariyon Bakare.
Miles found it both thrilling and nerve-wracking to team up with Mr. Loverman after he left Death in Paradise.
