Kojima Productions has announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will release on PC on March 19th. They’ve also shared that they’re developing new game modes and features for both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions, which will include fresh rewards and challenges for players.
The game will launch on PC and PS5 with new modes and features, giving players fresh challenges and rewards. While details are limited, these additions won’t be as extensive as the Director’s Cut for the original Death Stranding, which included a lot of new missions. It sounds like these new modes and features will likely be optional extras, possibly including extra difficulty settings, rather than being integrated into the main game.
Boor shared more details about what players on PCs can expect from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The game will work with upscaling technology for graphics cards from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel, and will also offer Frame Generation to boost frame rates even higher. Players with ultrawide monitors will be well supported, with the game displaying in high-quality 4K resolution on both 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratio screens.
The game will work with most standard controllers, but PC players using the DualSense controller will get even more features, such as realistic vibrations and trigger effects. You’ll also be able to play using a mouse and keyboard, and the game supports advanced audio technologies like Dolby Access, DTS Sound Unbound, and Windows Sonic for Headphones to create immersive 3D sound.
You can now pre-order Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on Steam and the Epic Games Store. There are two versions available: a standard edition and a Digital Deluxe edition. Both versions come with a special Quokka Hologram unlocked early, and all three tiers of the Battle, Boost, and Bookka Skeleton pre-order bonuses in silver. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes additional content beyond what’s in the standard version.
This update includes the Machine Gun (Level 1) available from the start, plus new content added in patches 70, 71, and 72: Quokka, Chiral Cat, and Why Me?. It also features all three tiers of gold-plated Battle, Boost, and Bokka character skins.
Boor concluded by expressing gratitude to players for their ten years of support for Kojima Productions. He acknowledged the studio’s recent 10-year anniversary, stating they wouldn’t have achieved this milestone without the dedication of their fans, whom he referred to as ‘porters.’ He thanked everyone on behalf of the entire team for their ongoing support.
