Earlier this year, it was announced that the game *Death Stranding* would be adapted into an anime. Now, director Hideo Kojima has released the first trailer for the anime, currently titled *Death Stranding Mosquito*. You can watch it below.
Okay, so the new trailer showed this new character, and let me tell you, his ability is…unique. He can basically pull things out of people, which sounds wild! He also seems to be another ‘Repatriate’ like Sam, which is super interesting. The coolest part? He actually *fights* Sam, and it looks like he’s doing it to protect these little creatures that seem like pets. Honestly, I’m trying to figure out how this all fits into the bigger Death Stranding story. It could be a whole side adventure, and I’m really excited to find out more!
Okay, so the animation’s looking really interesting. It’s written by Aaron Guzikowski – the guy who did *Prisoners* and *Contraband* – and directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto from ABC Animation Studio, who did *Pretty Cure*. They’re going for a really raw, sketchy look, like it was all done with pencils and lots of layering. Also, what you’ve seen in the teaser is actually early footage, so expect things to probably change and get even better as they polish it up!
