The main attraction of My Hero Academia lies in its unique premise: the protagonist, Deku, is an ordinary boy living in a world where superpowers, or ‘quirks’, are common among people. Despite his strong desire to become a hero like All-Might, it seemed his dream was unattainable due to his lack of powers. However, fate intervened when All-Might bestowed upon Deku One For All, a powerful quirk that can be inherited. With this newfound super strength, Deku seized the chance to attend UA High School and learn how to transform into a professional hero.
In the anime “My Hero Academia,” it was initially implied that a person without the ability known as One For All would never become a hero. However, the spin-off series “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” presents an alternative perspective by showing that people without superpowers can still be heroes. A key character in this spin-off, for instance, is quirkless and fights without special abilities, matching up against other powerful characters like Shota Aizawa. This series thus underscores the idea that determination alone can make anyone a hero, even those lacking powers such as Deku. Moreover, this concept of a quirkless hero aligns with the ending of the “My Hero Academia” manga and Deku’s ultimate destiny in the final episode.
Knuckleduster Doesn’t Have a Quirk in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
In the world of My Hero Academia, Knuckleduster is a masked vigilante, dressed in black clothing and a black headband. At first, people assumed he possessed a quirk granting him extraordinary strength and durability. However, during a battle with Aizawa, it was revealed that he doesn’t have a quirk, which is rare in this universe where most inhabitants have special abilities. The series showcases an array of ordinary citizens with mundane powers or no heroic abilities at all. Despite this diversity, being a professional superhero without a quirk is extremely challenging and nearly impossible. This revelation was particularly crushing for the character Deku, who also discovered he didn’t have a quirk.
Despite being an ordinary person without superpowers, Knuckleduster stands out as a heroic figure, demonstrating that anyone can be a hero given the right circumstances. However, his heroism lies outside the boundaries of the law, making him an unlawful vigilante. This character operates under the same principles as Batman, often exceeding the physical capabilities that a regular person could realistically possess. Knuckleduster appears to have superhuman strength and agility, far surpassing the power levels of a normal human like Deku, even after training by All-Might.

Knuckleduster Offers A Good Outlook for the End of My Hero Academia
From my perspective, the primary narrative concludes with One For All exhausting within Deku, rendering him quirkless once more. However, the series provides a glimpse of the future through a flash-forward, depicting our main characters as adults. In this new chapter of his life, Deku readjusts to living as an ordinary citizen without powers. Fortunately, his friends and mentors extend a helping hand, presenting him with a power armor suit that mirrors his former super strength. Although the story doesn’t delve too deeply into Deku’s reemergence as a hero, Knuckleduster offers a promising perspective on his future, implying that determination and courage are key qualities for anyone who aspires to be a hero.
