Delayed Open-World RPG Sets New Release Date (And It’s Soon)

Early in January, the release of a highly anticipated game based on the anime The Seven Deadly Sins was postponed. While originally scheduled for January 28th, Netmarble, the game’s developer, had indicated a March release was the goal, but didn’t specify a date. Now, we have a confirmed release date for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origins – and it varies depending on the platform.

Netmarble has announced that The Seven Deadly Sins: Origins will be released on PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 5 on March 16th. Mobile players (on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Google Play Games) will be able to play starting March 23rd. Originally, the game was planned for a simultaneous launch on all platforms, but the release has been staggered. Players on PC and PS5 now have about a month to wait to experience the anime-inspired RPG.

Netmarble’s The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Sets New Multiplatform Release Date, With PC & PS5 Arriving Early

Netmarble recently thanked players for their ongoing excitement about their new open-world RPG. They confirmed the team has been working hard to improve the game’s quality thanks to the extra development time gained from the delay. When the game, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, was initially postponed, Netmarble explained they wanted time to address feedback from beta testers. They’ve focused on improving the controls, combat, and user interface based on that feedback.

The recent update doesn’t detail the recent changes, but they probably relate to the game’s main features. Netmarble now appears to be preparing to announce a new launch date for the game. However, they’ve cautioned that this schedule isn’t final. So, while a confirmed date suggests we might be able to play The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin in March, it’s not a certainty.

The free-to-play open-world RPG will launch on PS5 and Steam on March 16th, with mobile versions following on March 23rd. Netmarble hasn’t explained why the release dates differ between platforms. Originally planned for a quieter month, the game will now be released in March alongside several highly anticipated titles like Pokemon Pokopia (March 5th), Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection (March 13th), and Crimson Desert (March 19th). However, as a free-to-play game based on the popular anime The Seven Deadly Sins, Origin still has a strong chance of success.

You can now pre-register for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin on the game’s website and through app stores. If you sign up early, you’ll receive free in-game items like a guaranteed hero character, extra chances to get new characters, and materials to improve your team. This suggests the game will likely include a system where players can spend in-game currency to randomly obtain characters.
