Okay, so the new Dungeons & Dragons video game, Demeo x D&D: Battlemarked, is finally here! As a fan of both Demeo and D&D, I’m really excited about this – it’s a virtual tabletop game that mixes the rules of Demeo with the world of D&D, and you can play with friends on different devices. Right now, there are a few quick adventures and two full campaigns you can jump into. But I know a lot of us are wondering if it’s worth getting, so I’m sure everyone wants to know more about those campaigns!
A key feature of Battlemarked is its self-running campaigns, meaning you don’t need to be a Dungeon Master and handle all the preparation and on-the-fly storytelling. However, since the game draws heavily from Dungeons & Dragons settings and history, how much will these campaigns feel like familiar D&D adventures? Here’s a look at what the base game of Battlemarked offers in terms of campaigns.
Are the Battlemarked Campaigns New, Original Stories or Existing D&D Adventures?

Battlemarked currently features two campaigns: “Embers of Chaos” and “Crown of Frost.” Both are original stories set within established Dungeons & Dragons worlds. While longtime fans of the tabletop role-playing game will appreciate the attention to detail and familiar lore, the campaigns are also designed to be enjoyable for players new to D&D.
I’m really excited about Embers of Chaos! It takes place mostly in the Neverwinter Woods, and the story is all about our heroes trying to bring peace to a really divided land. I’ve seen some characters from the Emerald Enclave pop up, which is cool, but it’s mostly a fresh, new adventure, not just a retread of old ground.
Okay, so I’m playing through Crown of Frost right now, and it’s set way up in the frozen north, Icewind Dale. Things are getting seriously weird – enemies who normally hate each other are teaming up, and they’re building a huge army. Basically, I’m trying to figure out what their plan is before it’s too late to stop them. It’s pretty intense!
As a big fan of classic D&D, I’d say these stories feel right at home in that world! It’s cool to know Resolution Games actually brought in writers who used to work on Dungeons & Dragons to help with the storytelling. You get all the good stuff – villains with evil plans, dangerous enemies, and even a few little side missions. Your choices do matter, changing things up a bit, but it’s not quite the same as a freeform game with a Dungeon Master. You’ll be rolling dice for important stuff, both when you’re fighting and during other moments, and the whole adventure plays out with each of the four characters taking turns, no matter if you’re playing by yourself or with friends.
How Long is a Campaign in Battlemarked?

If you’re used to traditional Dungeons & Dragons campaigns that can last for months or even years, you might be curious about the length of the Battlemarked campaigns. These stories are more involved than a single session, but they aren’t as extensive as a huge campaign like Baldur’s Gate 3. Expect to need several sessions to finish each one, though.
Based on how previous groups have played, I estimate that Embers of Chaos and Crown of Frost will each take your party about 6-7 hours to finish. This can vary depending on how quickly players read information and make choices in battles. All together, you’re looking at around 12 hours of main story content, plus the 4 standalone adventures. Considering the $29.99 price, that’s a decent amount of content, though it’s on the shorter side for a D&D adventure.
Resolution Games plans to expand the game after its launch with new, full-length story campaigns and regular updates. These campaigns will be available as downloadable content (DLC) starting in 2026, and will likely require a separate purchase, though the final pricing hasn’t been announced.
