Demi Moore is remembering the good times with Bruce Willis both now and then.
The actress from Substance reminisced about her 13-year marriage, fondly remembering her husband, the Die Hard actor, and his playful spirit, even as he struggled with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Demi Moore shared a sweet memory of her late ex-husband, Bruce Willis, during a screening of her new film, Song Sung Blue. She told Kate Hudson that Bruce used to dedicate every week to listening to Neil Diamond. “He’d blast Neil Diamond, and I’d ask what was happening,” Demi explained. “He’d just say, ‘It’s Neil Diamond Day.’” The story came up while watching Song Sung Blue, which features Demi and Hugh Jackman as members of a Neil Diamond cover band, at a January 7th event at Soho House in Los Angeles, according to The Daily Mail.
The 63-year-old explained that Bruce, the father of her daughters Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 34, often pretended to be Neil throughout the day for years, as he was a big fan. She added that she also loves Neil’s work!
She also made sure to express to Kate how much the film touched her.
Demi agreed with her friend, saying the film was incredibly heartwarming, and she especially praised the performances of Hugh and the young actors, finding them all exceptional.
Although Lucy Liu rarely discusses her former husband, Bruce Willis, she recently supported his wife, Emma Heming Willis. Emma had shared that Bruce, who has two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, with her, is living apart from the family while receiving medical care.

Demi Moore described being an ex-wife within a close-knit family as a unique situation. Speaking on Oprah Winfrey’s podcast, she highlighted how much responsibility fell on her daughter, Emma, to navigate a difficult time. Moore emphasized the importance of caregivers prioritizing their own well-being, recognizing that they need to take care of themselves too.
She explained that if people don’t take care of their own well-being, they won’t be able to support others.

The Oscar nominee also commended Emma for the significant responsibility she’s taken on as Bruce’s main caregiver.
I really feel for Emma, especially as a young woman in this situation. No one could have predicted how things would unfold, and I think she’s handled it incredibly well. She’s worked tirelessly to do what’s right, showing both vulnerability and incredible strength throughout the process.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore first met in August 1987 at the premiere of the movie Stakeout. Interestingly, neither of them starred in the film! Demi was there to support her then-ex-fiancé, Emilio Estevez, who was one of the movie’s stars.
Bruce had recently gone through a breakup, and Demi, previously married to Freddy Moore from 1981 to 1985, was open to meeting new people.
In her 2019 memoir, Inside Out, Demi Moore (known as ‘the Ghost’) wrote that she and her then-husband immediately discussed their shared desire to start a family and have children.
They fell in love quickly and, just months after meeting, spontaneously eloped in Las Vegas while attending a boxing match. The ceremony took place at the Golden Nugget hotel on November 21, 1987. A month later, they celebrated with a larger, more formal wedding officiated by the legendary Little Richard.
Demi later revealed in her memoir how unstable their marriage had become, recalling a moment in 1990 when Bruce questioned whether he even wanted to be married. Despite these issues, they publicly appeared to be a perfect Hollywood couple until they announced their separation in 1998.
But they remained a family unit.
In 2000, Bruce told Rolling Stone that he still loved Demi and they remained very close. They were committed to co-parenting their three children and felt as connected as ever. He emphasized their ongoing friendship and lifelong dedication to their kids.

Demi has said she and Bruce started trying to have a child even before their whirlwind wedding.
It’s possible they succeeded, as their daughter, Rumer Glenn Willis, was born on August 16, 1988, in Paducah, Kentucky. Her father was filming the movie In Country there at the time.
For several years after Rumer was born, her parents often showed home movies of her birth when they had guests over – it was the highlight of their gatherings.
Demi recalled in a 1991 interview with Vanity Fair that Bruce stayed with her for all 15 hours of her labor, only leaving briefly once to use the restroom.
Rumer Willis was nine years old when her parents divorced, and she’s still amazed by how well they continued to co-parent. She told People magazine in October 2024 that they always made sure to share family vacations, Christmases, and birthdays together.
In a 2015 interview with Larry King, she explained that her parents always prioritized family togetherness. They consistently made an effort to attend events as a complete family, ensuring they functioned as a unified unit rather than two separate entities, and she believes this had a significant positive effect.

Rumer had a daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, with musician Derek Richard Thomas on April 18, 2022.
The actress from My Divorce Party revealed that she named her baby after three of her father’s favorite musicians: Louis Armstrong, Etta James, and the Isley Brothers.
Oh my gosh, she’s just… everything! I read this interview with her grandma, Demi, in TopMob News back in January 2024, and she said it perfectly. It’s exactly what everyone says about grandbabies – pure joy! But she also said it’s true – all the fun, all the happiness, and the best part? Getting to crash early and have a peaceful night’s sleep! Seriously, she sounds absolutely perfect, and I’m completely obsessed!
Rumer and Derek ended their relationship in August 2024, and Rumer publicly thanked her parents for demonstrating a wonderful example of successful co-parenting.
Derek and I are still incredibly close – he’s truly my best friend, and that will never change. We’ve figured out a way to not only maintain our friendship but also to co-parent Lou in a loving and supportive way. Honestly, I think we’re both so grateful to have that kind of relationship, both for ourselves and for our little one.

Scout LaRue Willis was born on July 20, 1991, in Sun Valley, Idaho. Her parents chose to raise her and her siblings outside of Hollywood during their childhood years.
Not that they didn’t do glitz and glam.
Oh my god, can we talk about Demi Moore? She was pregnant with her second daughter, and she just… completely redefined what it meant to be pregnant in the public eye. That Vanity Fair cover from August 1991? It was legendary! A nude maternity shoot! I mean, nobody had ever done anything like that before, and honestly, everyone still tries to copy it. It was just… iconic. I still have that magazine, you know. It’s a little worn, but I cherish it!
“Pregnancy agrees with me,” she told the magazine. “I feel comfortable.”
Although Scout appeared in a few of her parents’ movies when she was younger, she was more passionate about photography and music. After graduating from Brown University, she released her first album, also called ‘Scout,’ in 2022.
She’s a big fan of movies, and even before Demi Moore won a Golden Globe for The Substance, her daughter, Scout, was already enthusiastically praising her mom’s work in the darkly comedic and unsettling horror film.
I was completely blown away when I met her! She’s someone I truly admire, and not just because she’s incredibly beautiful and talented. What really struck me was her authenticity – she was completely herself, and I thought that was amazing. It felt like a gift that she shared that with the world, and knowing how many people she inspired with her courage meant so much to me.

Tallulah Belle Willis was born Feb. 3, 1994, in Hailey, Idaho.
Bruce told Rolling Stone in 2000 that people had offered various explanations for his life, including the idea that he was facing consequences for past actions. He also admitted some found it amusing that the tough action star was a devoted father to daughters. But he happily said he’d welcome even more daughters, adding, ‘They’re great!’
When Tallulah was in third grade, her family—the Willis-Moores—moved from Idaho to Los Angeles. This gave her a more Hollywood-focused childhood than her sisters, but it wasn’t a positive experience.
The founder of the clothing brand Wyllis has openly shared her struggles with addiction, beginning with getting sober at age 20. She later sought treatment for depression at 25 and then dealt with anorexia. In a 2023 essay for Vogue, she explained that while medication for her ADHD was beneficial, it also reduced her appetite, which made her overly focused on her weight.
Following another stay in treatment, prompted by her father’s declining health—the family had revealed Bruce Willis’s aphasia diagnosis in March 2022—Tallulah was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
She shared in Vogue that her recovery will likely be an ongoing process, but she’s now equipped with the skills to fully engage in all areas of her life, particularly her relationship with her father.
Tallulah shared the happy news of her engagement to musician Justin Acee on Christmas Eve. He proposed at her future mother-in-law’s house in Idaho, and thankfully, a family member was there to film the proposal.

After his divorce from Demi Moore, Bruce Willis hadn’t expected to fall in love again. But in 2007, he met Emma Heming, a model born in Malta, at their shared gym.
In a 2009 interview with W magazine, Bruce Willis admitted that he was unhappy for much of the past decade while being single. He described feeling down and never believing that a relationship would fix things. He used to tell himself he wasn’t lonely despite being alone, but he now realizes he was just fooling himself.
He said his life significantly improved after he began dating Emma, who is 23 years younger than him, and seeing her regularly.
Bruce Willis and Emma Heming married on March 21, 2009, in a beach ceremony at their home in Turks and Caicos. Demi Moore, who was married to Ashton Kutcher at the time, and their daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, were also there. Bruce and Demi divorced in 2011 after six years of marriage.
On December 29, 2024, Emma celebrated 17 years of marriage. She recently shared how much “unconditional love” keeps her and her husband strong, especially given the challenges they’ve faced with his health.
She expressed deep gratitude for the experience, attributing it to a specific person. She added that she would gladly repeat it without hesitation.
Following Bruce’s diagnoses of aphasia and, eventually, dementia, Emma started Make Time Wellness, a company creating supplements for brain and prenatal health. She also began hosting the Make Time Podcast.
In 2023, Emma explained to TopMob News that speaking up is crucial, as taking action, raising awareness, and having open conversations are what drive progress and create real change.

Emma and Bruce Willis had a daughter, Mabel Ray, on April 1st, 2012, in Los Angeles. The family later moved to Bedford Hills, New York.
In 2017, Emma told Elle Decor that one of the best things about their home was its location – close enough to the city to enjoy all it has to offer, but still providing a sense of escape.
Even though they lived far apart, Scout, Tallulah, and Demi remained close friends with Mabel. They all came together in June 2024 to celebrate her finishing sixth grade.
“We love her!!!” Tallulah commented on Instagram. “7th grade here we go!”

When Evelyn Penn Willis was born on May 5, 2014, Bruce shared his happiness at becoming a father to five daughters.
He told People magazine that they were surprised by the baby’s sex at birth. He added that he believes women should lead in all aspects of life, stating that he thinks women are simply more intelligent than men.
Emma shared with Elle Decor that Bruce was very accommodating, always making time for their daughters and going with whatever plans they had.
She explained that he’s become very giving with his time because he’s been a parent for so long and is accustomed to prioritizing his children’s needs over his own.
Emma described her family as traditional because they prioritize family above all else. They focus on teaching their children good manners, grace, and the value of education. However, they also encourage self-expression, as long as it’s reasonable. Importantly, they work hard to avoid raising spoiled children and strive to find a healthy balance in parenting.
Emma has been honest with Mabel and Evelyn about their father’s health, but she’s also making an effort to create positive experiences for them. She’s been sharing videos from their recent trip to Paris and decorating for Christmas to bring some joy home.
