In 2025, Demon Slayer achieved a major milestone with the first film in its new Infinity Castle trilogy, earning over 100 billion yen worldwide. As the highest-grossing anime film ever, fans are excited for the next installment. The intense battle between the Demon Slayers and the demons isn’t finished, and future films promise to bring some of the most exciting fights from the original manga to life. While we’re still waiting for news on the release of the second film, the anime has announced a rerun of all previous seasons. Starting April 5th, 2026, all seasons will be rebroadcast from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM JST.
The anime will be shown on Japanese TV channels, including Fuji TV. To celebrate, a new promotional image and short video have been released. Because the series has over 60 episodes, the broadcast is expected to continue until 2027. This rerun will simply be re-airing episodes already available online, with no new content. This also suggests there won’t be any major new releases for the anime in 2026. It’s the first time since the show began that Demon Slayer won’t have a new season or movie coming out. However, given the high quality animation and intricate detail of the films, it’s understandable that the studio, Ufotable, needs extra time for future projects.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Will Focus on More Intense Battles

The first part of the story centers around three intense battles, featuring fan-favorite characters. Shinobu faces off against Upper Rank Two, but tragically loses, as defeating one of the strongest demons is nearly impossible for a single Demon Slayer. In her final moments, Shinobu shares a personal message with Kanao. The film also reveals why Zenitsu’s personality changed after the Hashira Training, showing his difficult fight against Kaigaku, a former comrade who has become the new Upper Rank Six.
The fight between Giyu and Tanjiro teaming up against Akaza was definitely the highlight of the film – the animation and Akaza’s story were both amazing. The first part ends on a huge cliffhanger, leaving viewers wanting more. Although Akaza and Kaigaku are defeated, three powerful Upper Moons remain, with Nakime being a major threat due to her ability to create the confusing and endless Infinity Castle.
While the second part of the film won’t be available this year, fans might still get a sneak peek or some news soon. The first part came out in July 2025, and then internationally in September. Because the anime is still being shown in theaters in Japan, the streaming release is being delayed. We don’t have a confirmed streaming date or platform yet, but most likely Crunchyroll will be the one to stream it.
