Demon Slayer Director Shares Promising Infinity Castle Part 2 Update: “Hoping To Exceed Expectations”

The first movie in the Demon Slayer‘s new trilogy has become the highest-grossing anime film ever, earning over 100 billion yen worldwide. Released in Japan in July and internationally in September, the film remains incredibly popular as fans eagerly anticipate the next installment. While there are no updates yet on when the second movie will be released, it promises to continue the thrilling battle between demons and Demon Slayers. The first film is packed with amazing action sequences, and the conflict is set to escalate even further.

The Infinity Castle arc is the thrilling final stretch of the series, where the Demon Slayers find themselves lost in a never-ending maze packed with demons. Simultaneously, the Demon Slayer Corps is searching for Muzan Kibutsuji, who is working to overcome the effects of a drug injected by Tamayo. With fans eagerly anticipating the concluding films, director Haruo Sotozaki has been sharing exciting previews.

Demon Slayer Director Haruo Sotozaki Talks About The Infinity Castle Trilogy

I recently read an interview with director Haro Sotozaki, and they addressed the question of Inosuke’s limited screen time in the film. It was really interesting! Sotozaki actually admitted Inosuke is their favorite character – they’re totally biased! They explained that Inosuke’s wild, almost animalistic personality makes it hard for him to connect with the others. But the cool thing is, we see him slowly start to open up and become more human throughout the story, spending more and more time with Tanjiro and the crew. It’s a subtle arc, but it’s there!

He added that while the character doesn’t appear much in the film, he believes viewers will be satisfied with what happens if they remain patient and engaged.

Inosuke didn’t get much focus in the recent movie, but that’s expected to change in the next one. Although the director hasn’t said it directly, Inosuke will be a key player in the second film, facing off against a very strong enemy.

The director also shared some thoughts on future films, explaining they’ve been listening to audience reactions. Viewers clearly enjoyed the previous work and expressed a lot of positive emotion, which the team is now using to inspire their next projects and aim for even greater success.

With no new information released by Ufotable, it looks like fans will be waiting a while longer for the second film. Also, the future of the Sunrise Countdown Arc – the last part of the Demon Slayer story – remains uncertain. An announcement about how it will be adapted won’t come until the current anime season, the Infinity Castle Arc, is finished.
