The theatrical run of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle in Japan is ending soon, bringing its streaming release date closer. The Demon Slayer franchise has seen huge success on both television and in cinemas, and the first Infinity Castle film was a major hit. It quickly became the most successful anime film in the series and has been playing exclusively in theaters throughout 2025 and early 2026.
The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has been very popular in Japan since its release last summer, and it even returned to theaters this spring with improved versions. Now, its time in theaters is coming to a close, with April 9th confirmed as the final date. Fans are now looking forward to what comes next after the film’s theatrical run ends.

Even though Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle was a major anime film in 2025, and several later releases already have streaming dates, fans have been eagerly awaiting their chance to watch it at home. While the film performed well in international theaters, North American fans haven’t had many opportunities to rewatch it outside of a limited re-release this spring. Many others have been hoping for a digital purchase or streaming option to enjoy the film that way.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a digital release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, and the film’s long run in theaters has been a mixed blessing. While it’s been very successful financially, it’s also meant limited access for those outside of Japan. This has made the wait for the next movie in the series even more difficult.
When Does Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Come Out?

Although Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is the first of three planned films, its release date is still unknown. Studio Ufotable recently shared some of its future projects, aiming for 2026 and beyond, and revealed that this movie won’t be released until at least 2027. It’s considered a longer-term project, meaning fans shouldn’t expect it in 2026.
As a huge fan, I’m getting really excited! It sounds like we might finally see the second Infinity Castle movie in 2027, which would fit with what’s been said about the trilogy wrapping up with the third film in 2029. Crunchyroll and Sony haven’t officially announced anything yet, but the fact that the first movie is leaving theaters feels like a really positive sign that things are progressing well!
