The movie “Demon Slayer” is currently dominating cinemas across the USA and Canada with its latest release. Notably, the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado from “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” has been elevated to a higher power level in the new film, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle“. Previously, Tanjiro and his fellow Demon Slayers were often at a disadvantage compared to Muzan Kibutsuji and his demons in their ruthless world. So, since the beginning, Tanjiro has been working hard just to have enough strength to survive another day.
As the finale of the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” franchise approaches, it’s showcasing a Tanjiro who has been diligently fighting and honing his skills. Despite appearing to grow stronger with each significant battle he survives, it’s only in the new movie that Giyu Tomioka confirms that Tanjiro has reached the power level of a Hashira, as they jointly face off against the Upper Three, Akaza.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Reveals Tanjiro Has Reached Hashira Level
The anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” often shows an unusual distribution of power among its characters, as individual Hashira like Kyojuro Rengoku appear to be quite strong. However, the battles in the series frequently end through teamwork or unexpected twists rather than solo fights between two individuals. Consequently, it’s challenging to accurately assess a character’s strength unless they face a single opponent for an extended period. This observation is particularly applicable when considering Tanjiro’s abilities.
Additionally, other characters might find this interesting too. Initially, Tanjiro was the first to activate his Demon Slayer mark, before any of the Hashira, and in the movie, he demonstrated his skills by fighting Akaza on an equal footing. As Giyu watched Tanjiro fight, he stated that Tanjiro has now reached the level of a Hashira. While it’s uncertain if this means Tanjiro can handle future challenges, it represents significant progress from when the series first began or even just a season back during the Swordsmith Village Arc.
Tanjiro made history by activating his Demon Slayer mark before any of the Hashira, and he displayed impressive fighting skills against Akaza in the film. When Giyu saw Tanjiro fight, he commented that Tanjiro had reached the level of a Hashira. It remains unclear if this means Tanjiro can handle upcoming threats, but it certainly shows significant improvement from his initial abilities or even just a season ago during the Swordsmith Village Arc.
What Does This Mean for Tanjiro’s Future?

It’s clear that Tanjiro has demonstrated a Hashira-level fighting prowess, hinting at a promising future for him. In the movie, he manages to triumph over Akaza in their re-encounter, also unveiling a new power during the battle that will significantly impact his future fights. Under the weight of numerous life-threatening battles, Tanjiro has undergone considerable development and evolution thus far.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle yet has two more movies set for release, and potential additional installments may follow suit. Despite being at a formidable strength level now, Tanjiro’s upcoming battles are numerous, and he must remain vigilant due to the ruthless nature of this world. Maintaining readiness will continue to be crucial for Tanjiro.
