In approximately one month, U.S. cinemas will premiere the initial release of “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.” Ticket sales have commenced a few days ago, and marketing efforts are intensifying rather than slowing down. The studio is pulling out all stops to sustain excitement for the film, and it’s proving quite effective. This trilogy-concluding series will primarily concentrate on key battles, with the first installment highlighting only select skirmishes between characters such as Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka against Akaza, the murderer responsible for Kyokuro Rengoku’s demise.
The latest promotional material for the movie highlights Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira from the series, who is preparing for a fierce battle against Doma, one of the Upper Moon Three. This battle was hinted at in the initial trailer, and now additional key visuals and promo videos have been released to build anticipation. The tagline on the visual reads, “Prepared for this decisive strike.” While manga enthusiasts already grasp the significance of these words, anime-only viewers will witness Shinobu’s unwavering determination on September 12th, 2025.
Shinobu Kocho Has More Than One Reason to Fight Doma in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

In a notable shift, Doma, holding the Upper Rank Two position, wields powers that surpass what a Hashira can manage. Even Shinobu, despite her expertise in poisons against demons and remarkable speed, lacks the necessary force to sever an average demon’s head. However, Shinobu’s unconventional fighting style, stemming from her deep understanding of demonic poisons, coupled with her exceptional agility, offers her some edge. Yet, the upcoming battle promises to be far more formidable than any she has encountered before. The visual portrayal captures Shinobu’s intense struggle as she strains and attempts to strike the demon. Conversely, Doma seems unperturbed, seemingly enjoying the challenge, poised to counter whatever Shinobu throws at him.
For the first time in the anime, we will witness Doma unleashing his powers that propelled him to Upper Two rank. Besides her commitment as a Demon Slayer Corps member, there seems to be another motivation fueling her determination to eliminate the demon. The trailer has disclosed that Kanae Kocho, Shinobu’s sister and the former Flower Hashira, was slain by Doma. Kanae was known for her radiant and bubbly demeanor, in stark contrast to Shinobu, who once had a distinct personality compared to her current one.
In this paraphrased version, I have tried to maintain the original meaning while making it more readable and accessible by using simpler language and sentence structures.
Kanae took in Kanao Tsuyuri as her sister following Shinobu’s passing, with Shinobu looking after her before then. Shinobu harbored intense animosity not only towards Doma but all demons, as they bring nothing but sorrow and devastation wherever they go. In order to seek retribution, she suppressed her feelings and wore a false smile. Tanjiro was the exception, being able to perceive those hidden emotions beneath her calm exterior. With the anime reaching its final storyline, the moment for resolution has now come.
