In August, Crunchyroll took fans by surprise when they revealed that Channing Tatum would be lending his voice to a character in the eagerly awaited “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle.” This unexpected news emerged while the actor was busy taking on the role of Gambit in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday.” Tatum is set to voice the English dub version of Keizo, a significant character from the manga who shares a profound link with the villain, Akaza’s past. Additionally, actress Rebecca Wang has joined the English dub cast to give voice to Koyuki, Keizo’s daughter.
Crunchyroll recently released a backstage video showcasing the English dubbing session for “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle”, featuring Chris Hemsworth as one of the actors participating. Joining Hemsworth in the recording studio are Zach Aguilar, Abby Trott, Aleks Le, Bryce Papenbrook, Alehandro Saab, and Johnny Yong Bosch. Notably, Hemsworth was recorded in a separate gray booth from the rest of the cast. While most of the other voice actors worked in a room illuminated with atmospheric orange lighting, consistent with the tone and visual style of “Demon Slayer”, Hemsworth had a more flexible location likely to accommodate his busy schedule.
Channing Tatum Is in the Voice Booth for Demon Slayer
It’s quite unusual and almost dreamlike to see a star like Channing Tatum involved in an anime project such as Demon Slayer. While celebrities have occasionally lent their voices for anime features, especially in Studio Ghibli movies, it’s remarkable that an anime series like Demon Slayer would have been considered too specialized and niche just a decade ago, only appealing to hardcore anime fans or ‘weeaboos’. However, the landscape has significantly changed, with anime gaining widespread popularity. Statistics show that anime is quickly becoming one of the most popular formats on streaming platforms today.
2025 is anticipated to be a monumental year for anime, with “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” already shattering records in Japan. The film has become the top-grossing movie of 2025 and ranks third among the highest-grossing titles in Japanese cinema history. Nowadays, anime isn’t limited to a niche audience, as mainstream viewers openly embrace it. In fact, actor Tatum confesses that he watches anime to spend quality time with his daughter, which ultimately landed him a role in “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.” To demonstrate his dedication, Tatum even graced the red carpet at the US premiere of the movie, emphasizing his commitment to its promotion.
Right now, you can catch “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” in cinemas across the USA, starting September 12th. This movie is the initial installment of a planned three-part series, which will bring to life the Infinity Castle storyline from the manga. The upcoming trilogy promises to tackle the concluding chapters of the tale, ensuring a fitting end for fans everywhere.
