The anime adaptation of Demon Slayer has reached its climax as the Infinity Castle trilogy adapts the final story arc. The narrative begins directly after the conclusion of the Hashira Training Arc. Although the manga concludes before Muzan Kibutsuji’s appearance at the Ubuyashiki manor, the anime has opted to introduce a special episode to build anticipation for this eagerly awaited segment. Despite existing for over a millennium, the Demon Slayer Corps has yet to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji and bring an end to his reign of terror. Following the destruction of his mansion by Kagaya and the unfortunate loss of his wife and two daughters, Muzan grants the Demon Slayers a brief opportunity to attack him. Thanks to the joint efforts of Shinobu and Tamayo, Muzan has been significantly weakened, but it’s far from enough to defeat him. To make matters worse, the Demon Slayers are drawn into the Infinity Castle, Muzan’s hidden fortress where the Upper Rank demons lie in wait for their adversaries. Tanjiro is among those trapped within the castle, and the trailer reveals that he will face off against none other than Akaza.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Film Will Have Tanjiro Face-Off Against Akaza

Tanjiro and Akaza crossed paths for the first time on the Infinity Train after the mission was completed. Rengoku and his team managed to vanquish the demon running the train and rescue its passengers. However, as everyone took a moment of respite, Akaza suddenly appeared and confronted Rengoku. In this instance, Tanjiro was gravely wounded, prompting Rengoku to advise him not to stir.

In their battle against the Upper Rank Three demon, Akaza, the Hashira displayed an extraordinary fight. However, defeating such a powerful adversary alone was nearly unattainable for him. Despite suffering severe wounds, Rengoku persisted in keeping Akaza exposed until dawn. Almost escaping, Akaza was pinned down by Tanjiro who hurled his sword into the demon’s chest. In the Infinity Castle Arc, there’s a strong likelihood that Tanjiro and another character will come into conflict once more. This confrontation promises to be the most challenging battle Tanjiro has faced so far. The recently released 90-second trailer devotes about two thirds of its duration to these two characters, particularly focusing on Akaza. The secrets behind Akaza’s story are set to unravel in this arc. Despite having his Demon Slayer Mark, Tanjiro still has a score to settle with Akaza, but the difficulty of this task cannot be overstated.

Tanjiro Has Come a Long Way Over the Years, But Is He Strong Enough to Defeat Akaza?

The top three demons from the Upper Moons are in a league of their own compared to the lower three from the same tier. When Tanjiro first crossed paths with Akaza, the demon initially considered him “feeble” and was poised to eliminate him before engaging Rengoku in combat. However, upon witnessing Tanjiro’s injured state, Akaza felt confident that he lacked the necessary abilities. On the other hand, his demeanor towards Rengoku was entirely different, as the demon recognized the latter’s strength.

After the Infinity Train Arc, Tanjiro faced numerous powerful adversaries and grew stronger with each confrontation. Moreover, during the Hashira Training Arc, he underwent grueling training that significantly boosted his power levels.

In a remarkable display of mastery, Tanjiro not only manages his Sun Breathing Skill with greater finesse, but he can seamlessly transition between Water and Sun elements at will. Moreover, the mark on his body, emblematic of his Demon Slayer status, has morphed to resemble Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s.
