Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Unveils First Look at Doma’s Chilling Powers

The climactic portion of the “Demon Slayer” manga is being turned into a three-part film series, and the initial movie, titled “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle,” is fast approaching its release date in American cinemas. Released on July 18th, 2025, in Japan, “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” quickly became one of Japan’s biggest blockbusters ever. The film has already broken records as the best pre-seller of all time and is expected to enjoy even greater success in international theaters. This trilogy represents the most intense and action-packed part of the story, with the Demon Slayer Corps and all demons engaging in an epic, night-long battle to eliminate each other.

As the demons move onto the battlefield, it’s clear that the Upper Ranks won’t stay hidden for long, with their primary focus likely being on the Hashira. In the Swordsmith Village Arc, we were introduced to Doma, the Upper Rank Two, who stood out instantly due to his unusual character traits. The disparity in power between Akaza and the lower three Upper Ranks serves as evidence that the Upper Three are operating on a completely different level. What’s surprising is that Doma is rumored to be stronger than Akaza, the one who defeated Kyojuro Rengoku. The main trailer previously hinted at a confrontation between Doma and Shinobu, and the latest promotional material offers a sneak peek into his formidable powers.

The Blood Demon Art is distinct for every demon who has unlocked a unique ability that enhances their strength. Among the strongest demons are the Upper Moons, each wielding a terrifying Blood Demon Art, and Doma is no exception. Although he initially appeared in the series, his abilities were not displayed at all. However, in the latest trailer for the Infinity Castle movie, we observe the environment being frozen over as he battles Shinobu, hinting at only a fraction of his powers. His true capabilities, however, are consistent with what one would anticipate from someone surpassing the Hashira in power.

From my observation, each Blood Demon Art seems to be intertwined with the demon’s character or their human past, providing insights into their true nature. In the case of Doma, his troubling and sadistic persona creates an unsettling aura that sets him apart from other demons. Yet, it is this very disturbing trait that adds depth to his character as a compelling antagonist, one who revels in causing suffering to others with utter disregard for anything else.

Although Doma faces off against a Hashira warrior, he remains calm and excessively self-assured. This overconfidence, however, stems from an impressive power rarely encountered. Doma amplifies his strength by consuming women, a habit that earns him disdain from Akaza. His preparations have not been in vain, as the Infinity Castle will showcase the full extent of his capabilities. Despite his formidable abilities, the Hashira Training Arc hinted at Shinobu having a contingency plan to defeat Doma. This strategy will be unveiled in the first part of the upcoming trilogy.
