I’ve been following the release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, and it’s been quite a journey! It’s been a year since it first premiered in Japan, and now it’s finally coming to Blu-ray and DVD. After the Hashira Training arc in 2024, they announced a three-part movie adaptation of what seems to be the most challenging story arc in the manga. The first movie came out in Japan in July 2025, and we internationally got to see it a couple of months later in September. What’s unusual is that it hasn’t been available for streaming yet, likely because of its long run and continued showings in theaters – it’s become the most successful anime film ever! Even now, it’s still being shown in Japanese cinemas. But good news for fans – the Blu-ray and DVD will be released on July 29th, 2026.
To build excitement for its launch, the anime’s website released three special illustrations featuring key characters from the first part of the story. Zenitsu Agatsuma and Shinobu Kocho each got their own artwork, while Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado were depicted battling together. Each illustration emphasizes the Demon Slayers’ fights against the Upper Moons, which were central to the film’s first half. Currently, the Blu-ray/DVD is only available in Japan, with a global release expected several months from now.
Does Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Have a Release Window?

Since its debut in 2019, the anime has consistently released a new film each year. However, this is the first year without a new release. The second part is taking longer to produce than anticipated, likely due to the high quality of animation. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, it’s expected to arrive sometime next year. In addition, a global streaming date for the anime is still to be announced, but we might find out more later this year.
What to Expect From Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2?

The Infinity Castle arc is incredibly intense, and the upcoming second part promises even more action. While battles with Akaza and Kaigaku have concluded, Doma remains a powerful threat. The film previously hinted at Kanao Tsuyuri’s fight against him, which will continue in Part 2. Plus, two more of the strongest demons – Kokushibo and Nakime – are still to come into play. As Muzan Kibutsuji’s most powerful subordinate, Kokushibo possesses terrifying abilities.
Nakime, the newest Upper Rank Demon, hasn’t demonstrated any fighting abilities yet. However, she’s the one who built the Infinity Castle and trapped all the Demon Slayers within its walls. No one can escape the castle’s endless maze until she’s defeated. After the current arc focusing on the Infinity Castle ends, the story will move on to the Sunrise Countdown Arc. The animation studio hasn’t announced if this will be a movie or a television series, and fans will have to wait until the current movie trilogy is released to find out.
