After the incredible success of the first film, which broke box office records and became the first Japanese film to earn over 100 billion yen worldwide, fans are excited for the next installment of the Infinity Castle trilogy. While details are still limited, the upcoming film promises to adapt some of the most action-packed battles from the original manga. A key character to watch will be Genya Shinazugawa, the younger brother of the Wind Hashira, alongside the other characters battling within the Infinity Castle. To celebrate his birthday on January 7th, 2026, the official Demon Slayer website recently released a new look at Genya.
Following the New Year illustrations, a new character visual has been released this year. It features a cute, chibi-style version of the character dressed in light colors and surprisingly holding flowers. The background uses shades of purple, matching his signature outfit. To celebrate, Ufotable is also promoting new merchandise based on this visual, including a diorama acrylic stand recreating the artwork and a beautiful rosette. These items, along with other themed goods, are available on the Ufotable Webshop.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Trilogy Will Feature Genya’s Best Moments

Genya’s role in the anime was limited after a somewhat divisive introduction in season one, until the Swordsmith Village Arc, which explored his backstory. He became more prominent during the Hashira Training Arc, and then, like the other Demon Slayers, was sent into the Infinity Castle. Once inside, his immediate priority was finding his brother. While the first part of this arc shows him simply moving through the castle, he’s quickly going to face a strong enemy.
Genya is unique among Demon Slayers because he doesn’t use traditional Breathing Techniques. This is because he gained his powers by consuming demon flesh, which turned him into a half-demon. While this gave him considerable strength to fight demons, even the strongest Demon Slayers, the Hashira, are no match for the Upper Moon demons. The Infinity Castle Arc is the second-to-last major story arc, leading directly into the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, the original demon.
Genya will have a significant role to play in the next installments of the series, and his actions will be crucial to the Demon Slayers’ success. Although a release date for the second part hasn’t been announced, reports suggest it will likely come out next year. The first part doesn’t have a confirmed streaming date yet, but you can currently watch previous seasons and the ‘Mugen Train’ movie on Crunchyroll.
