Demon Slayer Star Highlights Tanjiro’s Heartbreaking Resolve: “I Start to Cry”

In 2016, Koyoharu Gotouge’s “Demon Slayer” manga made its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump. Three years later, Ufotable brought it to life as an anime adaptation. Although the manga ended its storytelling in 2020, the anime is only now reaching its final arc. The narrative commences with Tanjiro Kamado’s tragic loss of his mother and siblings, leaving him as the lone surviving family member. His sister Nezuko was transformed into a demon during the massacre. Despite this seeming impossibility, Tanjiro dreams of finding a cure for Nezuko to restore her humanity. The upcoming films will soon bring an end to his epic journey.

The concluding manga storyline is being transformed into a three-part movie series, with the first film debuting in Japan now. Yet, it’s a few weeks until its global premiere, including in the U.S., which is set for September 12th, 2025. Tickets for North America will go on sale from August 15th, so make sure to jot down that date. The film promotion is in high gear, with the anime’s cast members being quite busy promoting it. Recently, Mantan Web had a chance to interview Nezuko’s voice actor, Aka Kito, who discussed her feelings about the series and her role as one of its key characters.

Aka Kito Explains Why Tanjiro’s Determination Made Her Cry

As reported by Mantan Web, Kito found it deeply touching when she finally reached the Infinity Castle Arc, approximately six years after the anime’s initial release. She also expressed a deep connection to the Infinity Castle Arc. Before the anime was even released, Kito admitted that she had strong feelings about this arc. When the Demon Slayer manga series had not yet depicted the Infinity Castle Arc, Kito was reading it and thinking, “This is how it’s going to unfold.

She mentioned, “Reading the Infinity Castle Arc felt like experiencing it simultaneously as Nezuko and myself. It’s created a strong bond for me. As I read the manga, I found myself curious about what would unfold, and now that it’s being turned into a movie, I find myself deeply touched by it.

In a gathering related to Demon Slayer, she expressed that recalling the tale of Tanjiro Kamado’s Determination Arc often makes her shed tears.

Despite being an action-packed Shonen series like “Demon Slayer”, the narrative carries a profound emotional depth. The events leading up to the Infinity Train Arc are collectively known as the Unwavering Resolve Arc, which is further broken down into six smaller segments. These sections underscore Tanjiro’s unyielding determination, a 13-year-old boy struggling to come to terms with losing everything he held dear. Yet, he persists in his quest to rescue his sister from their tragic fate.

So far, Tanjiro’s journey hasn’t been a walk in the park, but it’s his unwavering resolve that keeps him going through the tough times. This determination is a significant aspect of his character because it’s what drives him to carry on as the Demon Slayer. He’s come a long way and has grown substantially since then. Now, he’s about to face the greatest challenge yet in the Infinity Castle Arc.
