
Fans expected Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle to do well, but its success has been truly remarkable. As the first film in a three-part finale that will conclude the series, the movie didn’t hold back on its most intense battles. Recently, a prominent Japanese voice actor spoke about their experience working on the film, including details about the challenging battle they portrayed and the personal impact the role had on them.
Please be warned: this discussion contains major spoilers for *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle*. Saori Hayami, the voice of Shinobu Kocho (the Insect Hashira), had a pivotal role in the new movie. Her character sought revenge on Douma, an Upper Moon demon, for the murder of her sister. Sadly, Shinobu wasnât able to defeat Douma and died in the battle, with her body being absorbed by the demon. Hayami spoke about her experience with the film, noting several scenes were emotionally impactful. She described how Shinobuâs feelings towards Douma, the one responsible for her sisterâs death, were complex and expressed through a range of emotions and expressions when she finally confronted him.
Shinobu Watches Infinity Castle
The voice actor for Shinobu was incredibly impressed after watching the movie, praising Studio Ufotable’s stunning visuals. She said it truly showed her what it meant to be visually overwhelmed, describing how the realistic settings and powerful imagery made her feel completely immersed in the story from the very beginning. Seeing it on the big screen amplified that feeling even more. She was particularly captivated by the depiction of battles involving other characters in the first chapter, finding the entire experience completely absorbing.
Hayami spoke about Shinobu after finishing her work on the character, reflecting on what kind of person she truly is. She admitted she often pondered this question, considering how much Shinobu endured, the immense strength she possessed, and how she turned her vulnerabilities into assets. Hayami shared that Shinobuâs life has inspired her, and as the composer responsible for conveying that through music, sheâs dedicated to doing her best.
The anime film *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle* has surprisingly outperformed several major superhero movies at the box office, including *Superman*, *Captain America: Brave New World*, *Thunderbolts*, and *Fantastic Four: First Steps*. With the film still playing in theaters, it remains to be seen just how much success it will achieve.
