The animation studio responsible for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba recently announced they won’t be using artificial intelligence in their work. The use of AI in creative fields has sparked a lot of debate. While it can sometimes help artists, it’s also raised concerns about copyright and the irreplaceable value of human creativity. This studio has decided to avoid AI altogether.
During a recent interview with the Hollywood Creative Alliance before The Astra Awards, a spokesperson for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle addressed concerns about artificial intelligence. They confirmed that Aniplex and Ufotable remain committed to using traditional, hand-drawn animation for future films, reassuring fans that human artists will continue to be at the heart of the Infinity Castle series.
Demon Slayer Studio Speaks Out on A.I. Use
The representative stated they’ll be cautious when discussing A.I. However, they emphasized that Aniplex and Ufotable will continue to prioritize and collaborate with their traditional artists, writers, voice actors, and all the creative talent who make their anime emotionally impactful. This comes amid a significant debate within the anime industry, sparked by issues like Prime Video’s controversial use of A.I.-generated English dubs, which were ultimately removed due to strong fan criticism.
Recently, viewers have noticed artificial intelligence being used to create voices in multiple languages, sometimes even replacing actors in projects that already had established English dubs. This practice has sparked considerable debate within the animation industry, and anime, in particular, appears to be a frequent target for this technology.
Good Sign for Demon Slayer’s Future

Although Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is planned as a trilogy, the release dates for the final two films haven’t been announced yet. Given that the first film was in theaters until late 2025, fans will likely have to wait a considerable amount of time before the next installment arrives.
Rumors suggest the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy might return in 2027. While a long wait, this makes sense considering the immense effort involved in creating each film. Fans are happy to be patient, especially knowing the studio is committed to supporting the human artists behind the animation.
