Ysbryd Games and Necrosoft Games have postponed the release of their school life strategy RPG game, Demonschool, from its original September 3 date to November 19. They mentioned that the upcoming release of Hollow Knight: Silksong on September 4 was a factor in this delay. The game will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and both Steam and Epic Games Store for PC.
Here is the full message from Ysbryd Games on the delay:
Hey there, fellow gamers! I’ve got some news that might be a bit of a bummer, but hear me out. Originally, Demonschool was scheduled to drop on September 3, but after some serious thinking and soul-searching, we’ve decided to shift things up a notch. The game’s new launch date is set for Wednesday, November 19, 2025. So, grab your controllers, mark your calendars, and let’s get ready for an even bigger and better Demonschool experience!
For over a decade now, Ysbryd Games has been an independent publisher, giving us significant experience to assert that any time in 2025 may well be as challenging as it gets when it comes to launching a game, due to the intense market conditions. What makes the situation even more challenging is the sudden announcement that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on the same day following our planned release for Demonschool.
To emphasize that promoting “Demonschool” is our top priority, the Ysbryd team feels it’s best not to compete in areas where success seems unlikely, such as a field dominated by “Silksong”. Instead, we should aim for different timeframes to ensure “Demonschool” gets its own moment in the spotlight and generates meaningful conversations.
Demonschool‘s launch has faced delays in the past, but rest assured that there will be no more delays from this point forward. We’ve already provided Steam keys to members of the press as part of a well-balanced review process, and initially planned to release on September 3. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this last-minute delay and hope that our eager fans will understand.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that from today until November, Necrosoft Games and I (metaphorically speaking) will be working tirelessly to enrich and perfect the gaming experience for you. This means that additional endings and minigames, which were initially intended for post-release patches, are now going to be included in the game at its launch in November! It’s like a bonus treat for us all!
Appreciate your understanding and excitement for the “Demonschool”. We genuinely look forward to your continued backing of Necrosoft Games’ cherished project. Mark your calendars, as Faye and her rowdy gang of college demon hunters will make their appearance on November 19th!
