10 Chambers, the game studio known for the cooperative horror shooter GTFO and the upcoming cooperative heist game Den of Wolves, has recently undergone significant layoffs. A company spokesperson confirmed to Game Developer that a “large number” of employees were affected, citing a necessary internal restructuring.
We’re carefully reviewing our work processes and studio structure to ensure Den of Wolves reaches its full potential,” a spokesperson said. “Unfortunately, this will involve a major studio reorganization that affects many positions, including those held by some of the studio’s founders.”
Look, I know these changes at Den of Wolves are tough for everyone, and the team seems to be handling things carefully. They’re not going to discuss specific cases, which I understand – they need to respect people’s privacy. But honestly, it’s good to hear that Ulf Andersson and Simon Viklund are still completely dedicated to the game and to making sure the studio moves forward. I’m holding out for more news, and they said they’ll share it on their official channels when they can, so I’ll be keeping an eye on those!
News of the layoffs at 10 Chambers first emerged when former employees began posting about it on LinkedIn. Lead programmer Krister Cederlund mentioned that many “incredibly talented, experienced, and genuinely great people” were now looking for new jobs after a recent company restructuring.
The studio’s recent changes appear to have contributed to the departure of co-founder Hjalmar Vikström, who announced his exit yesterday. In a LinkedIn post, he acknowledged the challenges of game development and expressed pride in the team’s success with GTFO, despite the difficulties of the past few years. However, he didn’t explicitly state that his departure was a result of the studio’s restructuring.
So, the team behind GTFO, 10 Chambers, announced their next game, Den of Wolves, last December. I saw the trailer, and it really grabbed my attention with its cool sci-fi look. It didn’t show a ton of actual gameplay, but it definitely set the mood and got me hyped for what’s to come. It’s a 4-player co-op game, which is awesome!
Over the following months, more information about the game came to light. In December 2024, a new trailer was released, focusing on actual gameplay. It showcased the different levels and then showed players exploring the game’s dark and intense world, engaging in combat, and using weapons and tools to defeat enemies.
A new trailer for the co-op heist shooter dropped in June 2025, showcasing more of the game’s focus on planning and executing heists with stealth and gadgets. The trailer starts with a smooth operation, but quickly descends into chaos, forcing players to resort to more forceful tactics to steal and escape.
While fans are still waiting for news on Den of Wolves and what’s next for 10 Chambers Studio, you can read our review of their PC horror co-op game, GTFO.
