Dennis Quaidwill always hold a special place in his heart for Natasha Richardson.
The actor from The Parent Trap became emotional while recalling his late co-star, who tragically died in 2009 at age 45 from injuries sustained in a skiing accident. He fondly remembered their time working together on the 1998 film.
Dennis shared on the March 10th episode of the Out of Order podcast that watching scenes with Natasha was deeply painful for him. He described her as an incredible and amazing person.
In the movie, Natasha portrays Elizabeth James, a wedding dress designer who reconnects with her former husband, Nick Parker (played by Dennis), after their twin daughters, Hallie and Annie (both played by Lindsay Lohan), swap lives at summer camp.
Dennis really enjoyed working with Natasha, even saying he’d love to collaborate with her again in the future.
The 71-year-old spoke fondly of her, saying, ‘She was a wonderful person and such a joy to work with.’ He became emotional as he continued, describing her death as a ‘tragic accident’ – a fall while skiing.

The actor from Substance also complimented Natasha, who shared two sons, Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 29, with her husband, Liam Neeson, noting the warmth and energy she brought to work.
Dennis described Natasha as charming, noting she skillfully drew on her experiences as a mother to enhance her performances. He felt she had a special quality and was fully engaged when collaborating with others.
As the 17th anniversary of Natasha’s passing nears on March 18th, Dennis shared that he deeply misses her.
Dennis has shown Natasha appreciation before. Back in 2020, during a cast get-together for The Parent Trap hosted by Katie Couric, the actor recalled his experience working with the Tony Award-winning performer.
He described her as incredibly generous and enthusiastic, someone who radiated joy in her work. He felt that positive energy made the whole experience much more enjoyable.
Lindsay, 39, fondly recalled her TV mom, Natasha, describing her as elegant, graceful, and very motherly.
A year after Natasha’s passing, Lindsay shared an old photo of them together from the movie on what would have been Natasha’s 58th birthday, adding the message, “Happy Birthday Angel.”

Lindsay Lohan first gained fame playing twins Annie and Hallie, and then became a major Hollywood star with popular films like Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, Just My Luck, and A Prairie Home Companion.
Following legal troubles and a stint in rehab in 2007, Lindsay Lohan stepped away from Hollywood. She briefly returned for roles playing Elizabeth Taylor in the 2012 Lifetime movie Liz & Dick and in the 2013 film The Canyons, before moving to London and then Dubai. Lohan reinvented herself as an entrepreneur, opening nightclubs in Greece. She attempted a comeback with her own MTV reality show, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, though it only lasted one season – a pattern similar to her earlier, short-lived series Lindsay on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network. More recently, she served as a judge on the Australian version of The Masked Singer.
Oh my gosh, can you believe it? After sixteen years – sixteen! – Lindsay Lohan finally gave us new music in April 2020! She dropped this amazing pop song called “Back to Me,” and it was everything after waiting so long since her first album, Speak. I seriously haven’t stopped listening since!
After taking some time away, she returned to acting in 2022 with the Netflix film Falling For Christmas. She followed that up with Irish Wish in 2024. Then, to the delight of her fans, she reprised her role from Freaky Friday in 2025’s Freakier Friday, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.
Lindsay had a wonderful personal milestone in July 2023, welcoming her first child, Luai, with her husband, Bader Shammas.

Dennis Quaid is a talented actor and musician with a successful career spanning decades. Before starring in the hit movie The Parent Trap, he was already a popular leading man in Hollywood. He’s continued to appear in well-known films like Frequency, The Day After Tomorrow, and Far From Heaven, and recently starred in the Paramount+ series Happy Face and the 2024 Oscar-nominated film The Substance. Beyond acting, Quaid is also the frontman for the band Dennis Quaid and The Sharks, which has been performing since 2000. Interestingly, his personal life has a touch of romance – he’s a father, vineyard owner, and even traveled across the Atlantic to reconnect with a former partner.
Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan divorced in 2000 after nearly a decade of marriage. They have one son together, Jack. In 2004, Quaid married Kimberly Buffington, and they had fraternal twins, Thomas and Zoe, in 2007. After separating in 2012 and briefly reconciling in 2013, they divorced for good in 2016, with the divorce finalized in 2018.
In October 2019, Quaid got engaged to Laura Savoie. They secretly married in June 2020, after postponing their original April wedding due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Following the engagement, Quaid defended their relationship and the 40-year age difference, saying it didn’t bother them.

Remember Elaine Hendrix as the glamorous and somewhat mean Meredith Blake in The Parent Trap? That role followed her portrayal of a similar character in the 1997 film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion – she really nailed those parts!
After The Parent Trap, Hendrix continued to appear in popular TV shows like FX’s Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, 90210, and Anger Management. More recently, in 2019, she took on the role of Alexis Carrington in The CW’s reboot of Dynasty. She also appeared in the 2024 film A New York Story and even reunited with Lindsay Lohan for Freakier Friday.
Beyond acting, Hendrix is a passionate advocate for animal rights. She founded The Pet Matchmaker, an organization dedicated to rescuing animals and finding them loving homes.

I’ll always remember Lisa Ann Walter as the wonderfully funny and kind nanny, Chessy, from Hallie! But she didn’t stop there – she’s been in some amazing movies like Bruce Almighty, Shall We Dance?, and even War of Worlds. And I’ve spotted her popping up in TV shows I love, like Grey’s Anatomy, GLOW, and The Odd Couple too. She’s seriously talented!
The comedian’s memoir, titled The Best Thing About My Ass Is That It’s Behind Me, was published in 2011. For the next three years, until 2014, she hosted her own talk radio show, The Fabulous Lisa Ann Walter Show, on KFI in Los Angeles.
Even though they played rivals on screen, Walter and Hendrix are still very close friends. Walter told Vanity Fair that he considers Hendrix, whose name is Elaine, to be like family. He explained, “Elaine knows all my children, and that’s all we need. We have each other. I think of Elaine as my sister now; I’ve adopted her into the family.”
Recently, Walter has become widely recognized for playing the quirky and unconventional teacher Melissa Schemmenti in the Emmy Award-winning show, Abbott Elementary.

Simon Kunz, who won fans as the butler Martin in Chessy, has since appeared in popular British TV shows like Midsomer Murders, Sherlock, and The Last Kingdom. He also had a minor role in the film Captain America: The First Avenger.
More recently, he’s had small roles in F1: The Movie, Jericho Ridge and Rose’s War.

Polly Holliday was a strict and efficient leader while playing Marva Sr. at Camp Walden, but she became famous for her witty and spirited role in the popular 1970s TV show, Alice.
Oh my gosh, after The Parent Trap, she just kept showing up everywhere! I mean, I was obsessed with Stick It and The Heartbreak Kid, of course, but she even did episodes of Home Improvement and The Client! It was amazing – I couldn’t escape her, and I didn’t want to!
Holliday was honored with induction into the Alabama Stage and Screen Hall of Fame in 2000, and has also received four Emmy Award nominations throughout her career.
She passed away at age 88 in September 2025.

Most people recognize Maggie Wheeler as Janice, the unforgettable character she played on Friends. Interestingly, she actually first tried out for the role of Monica!
I’ve been a fan of Alison Wheeler for years! You probably recognize her face – she’s been in so many great shows, like ER, Friday Night Lights, and Shameless. But she’s not just a live-action actress; her voice work is amazing too! She’s done characters in Archer, various Batman animated projects, and even voiced someone in the recent Addams Family movie. She was so memorable as Marva Jr. in Camp Walden, and it’s wonderful to see her consistently working on so many different projects.
She’s has been married to Daniel Borden Wheeler since 1990 and the couple has two children together.

Nancy Meyers is one of the most successful women directing movies in Hollywood, and she’s known as a leading director of romantic comedies.
She’s a successful director, writer, and producer known for popular films like What Women Want, Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday, It’s Complicated (which received a Golden Globe nomination), and The Intern. These films often sparked trends in home decor, lifestyle, and relationships. She also produced Home Again in 2017, a film written and directed by her daughter.
Nancy Meyers often gives fans a glimpse behind the scenes of her popular movies on Instagram. She also wrote a widely shared essay for Modern Love in February 2020 about remaining friends with her ex-husband, Charles Shyer, who sadly passed away in December 2024.
In 2023, she began working on a romantic comedy for Netflix, but the company ultimately decided not to move forward with the project and separated from the director before it was finished.

Before Hallie Meyers-Shyer became a filmmaker herself, directing the 2017 romantic comedy Home Again starring Reese Witherspoon, she frequently appeared in her mother’s movies, such as What Women Want and Father of the Bride. She even had a small role in The Parent Trap, playing one of the girls at summer camp with Annie.
Fun fact: Her sister’s name is Annie, and Lohan’s twin characters were named after the siblings.
She and partner Ophir Tanz welcomed son Julien Benedict in April 2021.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I was rewatching The Parent Trap and I swear, I almost stopped it when I saw her! It was Kat Graham – yes, the Kat Graham from The Vampire Diaries! She was one of Annie’s best friends at camp! It was one of her very first roles, and honestly, she was amazing even then. And get this – she actually kept her camp shirt from the movie! She told InStyle, and I’ve known this for years, but it still blows my mind! It’s like a little piece of movie magic she still has, and I’m so jealous!
Besides playing Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries, Kat Graham has been in films such as 17 Again, How It Ends, and Operation Christmas Drop. She also appeared in Tyler Perry’s Duplicity and provided the voice for April O’Neill in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In 2023, she married Bryant Wood, a longtime friend and co-founder, alongside Graham and Frank Elaridi, of the wellness company Modern Nirvana.

Remember the young boy who got lost at camp in the movie, and turned out to be the only kid there? That was actually Lindsay Lohan’s younger brother, Michael Lohan Jr.!
After a brief appearance on the reality show Living Lohan, he pursued a business career following his graduation from Ithaca College. He married Nina Ginsberg in 2017, and they had a daughter, Isabel Scarlet, in 2021.
