Derek Hough Welcomes First Baby With Wife Hayley Erbert

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are twirling in bliss.

The Dancing with the Stars pair shared the happy news that they’ve welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Everley Capri Hough, with a heartwarming post on social media.

On January 5th, they shared a photo on Instagram of their hands holding their newborn baby’s feet, announcing her birthdate as December 29, 2025. They named her Everley Capri Hough and wrote that their lives had been leading to this moment, and that she had filled their hearts with love and completely changed their world.

Hayley and Derek, who married in 2023 after dating for eight years, announced the arrival of their baby almost six months after first sharing they were expecting in July. They originally revealed the news with a sweet video of them kissing, followed by a peek at their baby’s sonogram.

She shared the news with a caption expressing their disbelief that something so wonderful could come in such a tiny package.

Since then, the couple has occasionally shared sweet details about their baby, sometimes unintentionally. For example, Derek nearly let slip the baby’s gender while watching gymnast Jordan Chiles and her father, Timothy Chiles, perform a waltz on Dancing with the Stars in October.

During the show, he said watching the couple dance made him look forward to sharing a special moment with his—he paused, seemingly catching himself before saying “daughter”—“with my own child.”

Derek was happy to share details about how he got in shape for the arrival of his baby.

He shared with TopMob News in November that he’s been taking classes with doulas and midwives to prepare for the birth. He wants to fully understand the process, as it’s expected to be a personal and somewhat unique experience, and he wants to be as prepared as possible.

Derek’s voice cracked with emotion as he spoke, tears forming in his eyes. He described the joy of being able to nurture and support someone from the very beginning of their life.

He smiled and said he was excited about the incredible things to come, and how this experience would help him grow as a father, as a person, and as a man, leading to positive changes within himself.
