Derek Hough is about to dance into fatherhood.

Hayley Erbert, who’s married to a judge on ‘Dancing With the Stars’, has shared that she’s expecting their first child. They made this announcement via their social media accounts on July 22nd.

In December 2023, Derek posted on Instagram that she had a skull bleeding (cranial hematoma) due to a ruptured blood vessel and needed an urgent brain surgery (craniectomy). He requested everyone’s prayers and good vibes as he goes through this tough period.

Thankfully, Hayley received approval for her return to performances in April 2024 after receiving medical clearance. However, this experience left a profound effect on her relationship with Derek.

Three months into their marriage, he said, “It feels like our wedding vows are being tested quite quickly,” during his chat with TopMob News at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 2025 Oscars viewing party in March. However, he added, it’s been a wonderful and beautiful journey. They’ve had an extraordinary year filled with both triumphs and challenges, but they’re enjoying themselves now.

In fact, the two are more grateful than ever to continue performing together.

Derek went on, expressing his gratitude. ‘In truth, we’ve been quite blessed,’ he said. ‘Each day brings something to appreciate.’
