Paramount+ has revealed the cast for its upcoming eight-episode heist thriller, starring Minnie Driver, known for her roles in Hollywood films and the series ‘Emily in Paris’.
The upcoming series, currently titled ‘The Day,’ is inspired by the 2018 Belgian show of the same name. It will feature Luca Pasqualino, known for his roles in ‘Skins’ and ‘Rivals,’ and Louisa Harland, who starred in ‘Derry Girls‘ and ‘Renegade Nell.’
The movie ‘The Day’ is described as a fast-paced, thrilling story that takes place over just one intense day.
The story follows a bank robbery that turns into a frightening standoff when the police arrive during the crime, and the robbers lock themselves inside with hostages.

The show begins by following the police, specifically hostage negotiator Sylvia “Vox” Voxley (played by Driver), as she races against the clock to secure the release of hostages. As the situation becomes more critical, the narrative shifts – taking viewers back in time to experience the events from the perspectives of both the robbers and those held captive.
The show, currently titled ‘The Day,’ keeps you guessing by switching back and forth between the police trying to resolve a situation and the robbers who are trapped inside. This constant change in viewpoint challenges what you think you know and makes the mystery more intense, all leading to a dramatic conclusion where everything becomes clear.
Ben Harris and Jesse O’Mahoney created the series, which is currently being filmed. It will launch in the UK and Ireland soon, with the exact release date to be announced.
